I would just smelt them all together, make your ingots then wait a couple of weeks and test the hardness (or test the hardness now) and go from there :) spacers for typesetting. could be anywhere between 16 -- 30 bhn (I'm guessing on the lower...

Welcome to CB chuck. I tried to bend a bar of pewter that I smelted and cast, it folded end touching end and didn't break. In my experience, only hard (er) alloys break Checking the hardness is a way to narrow down what you might have ...

I find mine at thrift stores, craigslist, garage sales. Smelt and flux well then cast into .5 oz. boolits for eas alloying and sweetening the pot.

Take the bottom off the pot then the side piece where the loose screw is. Pinch the "channel" back in and reassemble reassemble. remember don't over tighten and don't lift the handle too hard trying to get a faster lead flow :)

+1 on rawhide mallet. I have 3 different weights. most molds drop easily --- some take a little more persuasion :) I find mallets are easier to aim-hit the handle bolt

I agree 100% with hermans. nothing will help if your downsizing/compressing your boolits in the seating/crimping process. This is the single largest cause of failures I've seen in loading for the 9MM. I used the NOE neck expanders until a fellow...

Nice find, not to be a nay-sayer, sometimes boat keels are made out of "mystery alloy" never know what you got until you test it. Id never put anything in my bottom pour without smelting it first fluxing it at least 4 times. I'd cut it into...

Not to be critical -- your coating on your boolits looks a little thick with not quite complete coverage to me. Try Swirling a little longer and remove/sift off a little more PC before baking. Washing in acetone really isn't necessary IF you...

.225 to .229 is a big jump for just fooling with alloy and temp. I would look into powdercoating the boolit to get the required size. a couple thin coats are better than 1 thick coat.
