The best I can describe the recoil is that they kick one time backwards, and twice forward. Somewhere I saw a slow motion video of the action during firing, fascinating. Browning was a genius.

I think people are pulling currency from the stock market, and buying something that won't go away overnight. The value of gold and silver didn't go up, the buying power of the dollar just went down. It might be very volatile in price until a...

Buy it, you will like it. I load mine with the Lee FN 170 bullet, and 24-25gr of 3031, and it functions fine. I make most of my brass from 30-30,but if I count my time, I should just as well buy it for a buck a piece. I think the Graf's brass...

You got me thinking about how to install bases on that thin shroud, maybe you could drill and tap a section of thicker walled pipe, and attach a sectioned piece on top of the shroud. Solder, or maybe even Locktite or Acraglass, that could be...

Thanks for the link. I've been shooting a 1889 and a 96/11 some lately, and found some nice loads, so I just ordered a mount for the 1889, and if it shoots as well as I suspect it will, I might get the diopter sights as well.

Is that a Commission 88 ? I would think the barrel shroud is pretty thin to hold the base screws, unless you used silver solder and screws. Also you would need to bend the bolt, or find a carbine bolt.

Waksupi, that made me laugh! But on a serious note, I hope it doesn't give the Gov't the idea that we need strict supervision on what and where we can plant, we can't be letting just anyone plant a garden on their ground, without permission and...

I like Re-7 in the 30-06, around 23gr shoots well with most bullets I've tried, use more if a hunting load. Re-7 is one powder I like to keep a good supply of, because they have dropped it once, and brought it back, might not come back if it goes...

I wanted to do something similar with some 30-06 cases to make some gallery loads, and sized them down in a 270 die, then used a 30 cal. NOE neck expander to seat a round ball. It worked, but necks were not very coencentric.

I remember having a Rev-O-Nok? steel, and a very large F. Dick with German silver ferule and a swivel and small chain on the handle. Both looked to be of superior quality, haven't seen them in years. Now I use a plastic handled cheap looking one,...

I had the same problem with mine a while back, and they sent me parts right away. That being said, I believe the nylon gear problem will be a recurring thing, too large a shaft, and not enough nylon thickness between the gear teeth.

On the subject of primer shortages, I read in a WW2 era Rifleman magazine where they were short of LR primers, but could still find a few SP primers. So they removed the anvil, flattened out the pin strike and inserted the small primer inside the...
