rfd, Wondering what kind of shooting you intend for your 40 cal ? Your use of the 422 gr bullet implies use for Sillywet? Otherwise, short range? 100,200,etc Midrange? Long range?

38-56 would have worked with the existing extractor.

What is the name and brand of Powder? It might be in Quickload? Do you have any pics of your 14" Guide Gun? Sounds like a great little gun :)

At a Police auction many years ago I picked up a CZ-75 Clone, witness in 9mm. It was a lovely gun and the wife nabbed it right out of the box as soon as I got home. When we took it to the range, it spit out brass with a huge bulge. I looked at...

While doing the initial testing of Recluse's recipe, I ran 100 rounds through my 30-06 with the Ranch Dog 311-165 plain base, with 1 coat of 45-45-10, loaded with 14gns WC820 and this was my last target shot. That's 4 shots in less than .5". And...

You could always Beagle the mold open a bit. Get some Aluminum Ducting Tape, cut off some thin strips and tape them on the inside of the mold blocks near the alignment pins. Heat the mold up, cast and measure a few. You can easily get an extra...

I was at a Linebaugh shoot in Cody one year and some guy brought a 700NE double rifle. I think ammo for it is something like $120 a round. A milder conversion is supposed to be the 405Win on the new M95 with just reaming a longer throat so you can...

Mike, I temporarily wired the 0-400 Rex C100 and went thru your procedure, and successfully got it to read 450 C. and can now set it up to that new limit. Next to wire it up with the SSR, T/C,etc and try it out beltfed/arnie

thank you, Mike, I will try this procedure Indeed, upping the limit to 450C should be more than high enough for my casting So far, my first casting run with my usual 9+1 ww/lino ran very well at 404 C setting on my 0-1300 Rex C100 ...

Were you loading mixed brass? Some commercial and some Military surplus? If it was a stiff load in commercial brass, then it could have been way over pressure in Military brass. I'm not sure how picky the 9mm is on the subject, but I know first...

( I did not mean T/C. I meant to ask about PID controller.) Is there a reasonable way to change a REX C-100 PID digital temp control unit range from 0-400 C to a higher temp range at least 0-600 C. thanks beltfed/arnie

Question about the Rex C100 PID controllers: Can the "0-400 C" range unit be changed to a higher range by somehow reprogramming or whatever. Or is in not worth "screwing" with? Reason I ask is twice, out of 4 orders, when I ordered a 0-1300 C...

I've never tried Emmert's lube, but... I have a Rossi/Puma M92 in 45 Colt with the 24" stainless octagon barrel. I lubed a bunch of 265 RF style bullets with 45-45-10 and shot about 300 of them through it in one weekend and the barrel was still...

I have converted a few 86's to 50 Ex. Most customers complain about the recoil with a crescent butt plate. The original twit was 1 in 56" and will not stabilize 500 grain bullet. The 50-100 has a faster twist.

Pope liked the 32-40 and would load the bullet from the muzzle with a paper patch and load the cartridge from the breach end. He had some amazing groups.

I have done a few. The action is not fun to re-assemble. The extractor needs to be out to remove the barrel.

The old files were hard all the way through, new files are case hardened in many cases. A Story about John Browning, when he started to build a rifle he would sharpen his files first. Nice to know there is someone that still can sharpen a file.

I've done a little bit with the 190 Ranch Dog in my Star Super in 9mm Largo and have reached 1000 fps with Bluedot. I do have a Wolf extra power spring in it. I tried them powder coated first, but it looks like they work better lubed with Carnauba...

Added weight, slow lock time, the extra inertia can break lock parts.
