That’s nice to hear you like the Henry better than the Marlin despite no gate. The wind is blowing today and it is 28 deg. so it’s a no for today. None of my loads are over 1.60” and go through the action just fine 210 SWC and 210 gr. TC from a NOE...

Only downside to 748 is it is temperature sensitive, lower than expected velocities in the cold and can really spike at upper end loads when it gets hot.

The Dawn detergent is the key ingredient for the best results with steel pins , I think you can deviate from the Lemi Shine and Dawn recipe and eliminate one or both of the benefits of those ingredients and get mixed results. I have been using my...

T-Bird, the MVA sight base for the Winchester 1885 is the same for the Miroku 1873’s nothing to do but put two screws in no modification. The Marbles sights are not what they used to be, MVA makes a Pope style sight that would be good for a hunting...

Same for Wyoming, 55 deg. F yesterday 55 again today, last year was snow fest and below zero for days. None of the old locals are not concerned until late Feb. or early March when the heavy Pacific storms hit.

Just do the MVA route and be done with it, you and your rifle will not shoot better. Order the base for the 1885 and you have several sights to choose from. I have fitted both of my Miroku 73’s with them and could not be happier with them. They are...

I never had a chronograph until the Lab Radar, I didn’t like the idea of fussing with temperamental screens and the rest of it. Guys that had them spent more time fussing with them than shooting, Lab Radar changed all that and they are accurate.

Winchester 1892 SRC in 45 Colt stoked with 300 gr. Accurate mould and 18-21 grs of H-110. Will shoot through anything on the planet easier to handle than the 458 SOCOM ,that 458 in a light short rifle will be handful or two.
