Used a 18.5 lb spring and a shok buffer to prevent frame battering. Went to a 16 lb spring as all I shoot is lead 230 grain same as hardball. But still use the shok buffer as they are cheap. If going to a lighter spring I'd still keep a shok buffer...

Have the 24-3 with the 3" barrel in 44 special with the combat grips. Have shot it with the Winchester 200 grain silver tip hollow point. Since most all N frames do weigh in at a signifcent amount recoil is more of a push than a jab. I put a set of...

Sounds like the combat grips they used on the models 24-3 with the 3" barrel in 44 special and the 624 3" barrel also in 44 special. If these are the ones that have the finger grooves then they are the ones of which you speak. Those can go for good...

If I had to choose for a woods companion pistol I'd go for my 10-5 model 10 or a model 15 with iron sights. I scored two nice black basket weave holsters for them and two 12 round belt slides. Load them with Speer Gold dots and keep a few snake...

Probably gonna get tarred and feathered for this. I've 2 308's and two 7.62x51's. One is a 40x single shot. Why Remington stamps 7.62 Nato on the barrel is beyond me. Anyway having said all that. I've found it way easier to get an accurate load with...

That little 16" bbld carbine would be a natural choice for a pistol caliber carbine. 44 special, maybe 44 magnum and 45 colt. Either a rebore or a liner. Or if in desparate straights a full on barrel replacement with maybe a slightly longer barrel....
