Muzzle loaders are vented firearms, not a sealed breech like smokeless firearms are. This vent is right in front of your face. Pressures build differently between the 2 powders and may have different "spikes" or waves. ...

I prefer the clamp on as the above stated the better seal. Also I find they don't "walk" as much when tightened. I have seen set screws threads and tight fitted pins cause tight spots in bores from over tightening. I think the clamp on is easier...

While the powder coat will reduce or eliminate leading, it will do little to help with the fouling from BP. With Paper patched bullets and no grease cookies the bore is usually wiped between shots with a damp patch of some elixair to control...

A couple 3 bags of ice in the body cavity is cheap insurance. While 60* isn't as big a problem a Sunny day with the carcass in the bed of a pick up may warm the carcass more than the air temp. A few bags of ice with the carcass wrapped in a sheet...

I would also consider the old Bonanza Coax press. While still made it dates back many years and was considered one of the best or premier press for many many years. For pistol rounds one of the lyman truline jrs would be fun to use.
