The flood coolant is nice on things like barrels where you're taking a long cut as you don't have to keep brushing chips or applying the cutting oil. As bangerjim said I usually do not use the flood coolant for perhaps 95% of the work that gets done...

Yes, If you try any milling with a drill press if you're lucky the MT2 or Jacobs chuck taper will let go before wrecking the bearings or bending the spindle. Drill presses aren't designed for side loads.

You'd have to cut off 1/2" and thread it for a barrel extension making sure to index it before chambering it to 9x39mm. The 9mm barrels are blow back not locked breach. I've done 9mm DI barrels like that but prefer to just make them from a blank.

Take a look at this machine. https://www.harborfreight.com/1-1-2-half-horsepower-heavy-duty-milling-drilling-machine-33686.html I've had it for about 9-10 years now. I would like to replace it with a bridgeport or clone to get a longer table as...

Co-worker and I had ducked inside an open bay door overhang when it started raining. Were standing there waiting for it to subside a bit and b/s-ing when we got the weird hairs on end feeling and ozone smell. Had just enough time to look at each...

Nice rebarrel! I've used quite a few GMB blanks and have been happy with them. Their turned blanks the markings are on the chamber end, gunsmith raw blanks are marked on the muzzle end. On a raw blank you can usually measure to see which side is...

The kids gocart did that last year. They came an got me saying the engine was smoking. Smoke screen machine was more like it. Dumped the oil, and told them to remember to use the fuel shut off. Had the same thing happen to our old IHC682. Always...
