According to serial number 38088 it shows production 1963. I thought it was stainless but looks like a satin nickel finish. Not sure if I should run full house loads continuously through it. I may be mistaken but better safe than sorry. I shot a few...

What are you going to size them to? I might have an old Lee sizer that I don't use anymore now that I use the NOE.

I powder coat but I did not have much luck with the HF. I purchased some powder and BB's from Smoke here on this site and it worked great for me. Maybe you will not have the humidity that we have in Michigan. I got the red and yellow HF to coat but...

First welcome to this madness. Get yourself a hot plate and set a circular saw blade on it to set your mold on. Set the temp half way between the med and high setting. I start heating my mold while the pot is melting getting ready to cast. If you...

I've got some case slick. Don't know what it's made of. I usually use Hornady paste lube or one shot for bottleneck. I don't care for the case slick. It gums up my sizing die. The bullets are coming out of the mold that large. I was informed at Noe...

I haven't bought a .454 resizer yet and not going too until I can scrape up enough for a lube sizer. I already had the .452 sizer. It wasn't until I started sizing on the Lee classic cast that I could feel how much pressure it was taking to do it....

I had posted earlier that my Henry seemed to like .454 bullets verses the .452. I reslugged this morning and high side is pretty much dead on at .451.5. I ordered a Noe mold that was sized .454 since this was measurement of my Laser cast bullets. Al...

daloper started a thread What a workout in Cast Boolits
I started casting some boolits for my 45ACP. I am using a mold I got from my uncle when he quit casting. Ideal 452460 4 cavity. Now I know why people like their aluminum and brass molds. This is such a work out on my arms. It is going to take a few...

daloper replied to a thread Hot plate temp in Casting Equipment
I set a circular saw blade on my hot plate and set the knob half way between the med and hi setting. I set the mold on while the pot is getting ready and it will cycle off and on while waiting for the melt. When the pot is ready so is the mold.

They told me to keep the old one for parts. They sent new one today. I also got the Noe mold today. Looks like a Cadillac next to a Pinto. I did luck out with this Lee with no burrs. Cavities looked good. Noe looks a lot better. Will try it this...

I'm hoping NOE sends prep specs for the new mold. I know guy at Noe told me whatever I did was to never smoke the mold. Clean with dawn and heat treat 3 times if I remember right. I think I read that they cast at 600 degrees but I have to keep alloy...
