Unless you shoot ten 3 shot groups with each, comparing group size ES, SD and average of one to the other one group attempting a guess at which is best is meaningless. Groups of just 3 shots are meaningless in your example, specially with that...

I will echo what EDG said. I got exactly one loading out of all the R-P brass I have (had). They either cracked in half or got bright shiny rings on the base to where I would reload them anyway.

More likely a little dirt or swarf in the tube or an out of round follower. We just got a couple of the 14 inchers for the PD and have fired them a lot for training and no problems even with full buckshot loads.

You will probably need to size your bullets down a little more. I have a Sharps that won't chamber the trapdoor rounds I had made up with 462 bullets. If I size to 458 they chamber just fine in the Sharps. We sweated and groaned on the 86 40-82...

Darn near pure soft lead and black powder will be the best cure if the chamber is the right size. We had this problem with a friends 86 the chamber was tight and the bore loose. The soft bullet expanded enough to give fair to good accuracy at 100...

With modern lubes the shape of the lube grooves won't matter. Suggest a 20-1 alloy with the square groove mould. If they drop .454 or larger size .454 or as cast. With the round groove mould I suggest a 96/3/3 alloy (COWW + 2% tin will do)...

You really need to slug the bores of those guns. The 93 Marlin could have a bore as big as 380 or more. Ihave no experience with a Buffalo Classic but for some reason 38-55 are all over the map from 375 to 383 in the 8 or 9 I have slugged. The...
