My Ruger original Vaquero .44-40 came with a .429" barrel and a cylinder having a .444 neck diameter and .426 cylinder throats. It shot jacketed factory OK, but not lead. My S&W 544 Texas Commemorative also has a .429 barrel, but the cylinder...

Hey Trevor, I read where someone said their coated bullets were so slick they could barely pick them up! I would like to have a coating that I could put on a polished steel pipe holding the bird feeder that was slick enough the squirrel couldn't...

You know, I haven't worked with the rifle HP's but if I did, I think I'd go tin rich in hope that the tin would help them to hang onto their weight because of the greater malleability the tin adds. I've noticed that with the tin rich lead only,...

Tripplebeards... Try plugging those HP's with silicone, that'll stop the hair-n-hide from plugging that hole and affecting expansion. With this .38S. I tried to get them to open like a turbo prop. Imagine the internal damage they could cause....

Well...here comes the arguments about expansion & then comes the FBI's standards and their test media...bla, bla, bla...but, I can tell you this, I learned a lot about blending casting metal and projectile speed while playing with expansion...let...

I did very much like my 64 & 65 S&W! I agree the 65 3” RB was about perfect. I regret selling it. CW

I upgraded my .357/9mm Convertible Blackhawk by having John Taylor rechamber the 9mm cylinder to .40 S&W and the .357 cylinder to the 10x25mm Rimmed, which is made from Starline .44 Russian brass necked down to .40 cal. He has the tooling to do...

Years ago when I lived in NE Oregon I shot and tested a lot of lubed cast bullets at sub freezing temps down to -5 below zero. Most were in the 10 -12 to 40 degree range. I found with most all lubes it's the first shot or two, particularly from a...

.44 Magnum brass has quite a bit greater wall thickness at the mouth and would result in a cartridge too large in diameter to chamber unless you turned the mouths thinner to fit into the chamber neck.

I have used in my grendel but it is THE powder in my 25/45. Its like magic dust in that caliber. I shoot a 110FTX bullet from my 20” Bbl at 2700 fps and 1/3 MOA. To date only one deer has fallen to this combo. It was a close hi shoulder and was...
