Some of their tools are of good quality, I buy HF to try a new tool I'm not sure I want/need. IF I like what it does and it doesn't hold up I'll upgrade to a better brand. I have a handfull of tools I never needed to upgrade from, and some I...

Just conjecture, but if the brass looked fine "after" this catastrophe, and it has been confirmed that the boolit/bullet impacted the intended target, then it is very likely it was a defect in the cylinder. Hate to say it, but you will likely not...

wendyj welcome to CB If you decided to start casting to save money, forget it. You won't, you'll just shoot more. Casting boolits (lead bullets) properly is a science, once you know the basics, not a hard science. There is a lot of good...

I've got to agree with Hamish. Manufacturing defect there had to be a flaw to get even separation like that. I'd contact Taurus and make them replace it.

When I returned home from active duty the only rifle I had was an M1 Carbine. The 30 Carbine cartridge was legal to hunt deer with then in my home state. Since having used the M1 carbine in the SE Asian war games I had no problems using it for...

No. I even use just COWW + 2% tin for my practice bullets because, with the harder alloy, I can shoot them all day w/0 cleaning the barrel as accuracy remains constant. The hunting alloy cast a heavier bullet but HPing them pretty much evens the...

Why/how could EB/Amazon/"XYZ" company have a stance against firearms, ban gas checks, brass, bullets, cartridges and still sell reloading equipment, bullet casting equipment, optics etc. This just doesn't make sense to me.!!

You probably had a barrel twist problem of were pushing the 325s too fast for the bullet. Frankly I don't see the necessity (unless that's just what you want) for a 325 of even a 300 gr cast 45 caliber bullet for general or deer hunting. A 250 -...

I have found the COWW + 2% tin then mixed 50/50 with lead to be an excellent alloy for most of my hunting bullets for deer, pigs and elk. I AC them and lube with Javelina or , now, 2500+. I also HP them with the Forster 1/8" tool to a depth of...
