Sorry to read this. Hate to read these actually. But part of life is death and none of us make it “out” alive. I dread the day. Have experienced it it’s never fun and the current is expected to be the worst. My first “lap dog” 19# Lahasa and my...

I get same in one Marlin ‘94. My newer Cowboy dosent do it. So I agree generous chamber. I have shot some healthy RUGER loads pushing 300’s to 1600 to see it. Worst is brass probably won’t last as long. But I have had that rifle for over twenty...

NOT a brass problem. A sloppy chamber and excessive case sizing problem.

I will put You in My Prayers tonight. I know how hard it is to watch a Parent suffer until the end. We had to do it twice. My Wife and I are hanging on by our fingernails too. Prayers help sooth the Soul.

Well that’s a big one! My first attempt set at 400 left a pool of lead with a couple lumps. Ironically it was red HF and looked omanis. Temps on these cheap ovens can be all over the map

If you get into reloading .32 ACP in a major way, you will find that mixed headstamp, range pickup brass varies greatly in wall thickness and is rather a nuisance. Dealing with it is a fool's errand and poor economy. As one who has over 50 years...

Too hot for the chamber dimensions. You are asking alot of the brass to expand that much and seal a sloppy chamber. The .45 Colt, .44 Magnum, .357 were not designed for lever-action use. To make a cylindrical case feed reliably in a...

I like my 222/20 better than my later, bigger & heavier 223/20 Savage. That 222 is a earlier model and much lighter. Shoots great too regulation is MUCH closer than the 223/20. Not much difference as the 223 is a 1:14 so it won’t shoot heavier than...

Chamber is too large. Measure diameter of fired case at the bulge. Expect that it is over .485" Load is probably too hot. Dies size the brass too much. Measure your sized cases, expect they are smaller in body diameter than .475" Look...

Yep, the Rotating Drum PM is the most Consistent, Period. Have Lyman, RCBS(2), Hornady L-N-L & older style, and a Redding BR-3. No sliding bar measures for me. They stick.

I ran into this exact problem with a Cimarron-Pietta Pistolero 4-3/4" in .45 Colt on which the sight was crooked. Gun shot way off! Smacked front sight with a 2 oz. brass hammer to straighten up, and snapped the front sight off. Poor factory...

Red Dot is bulky and a porous base "fluffy" powder, so you should not need to use any filler. The 13-grain load of Red Dot would give about 1800 fps with a 145-grain GC bullet and should not be increased.

Bottom line is 99% of distances where a red dot is used will not see an appreciable difference. Have t ya seen them mounted at a 45 angle on MSR setups? If it really bothers ya, you have a dot with a tube 1” or 30mm or a pic rail, levels are...

Another solution for .44-40 rifles having tight chamber necks, but a large groove diameter is the Accurate 43-200QL helled bullet. This has an oversized stop ring above the crimp groove which can be sized to fit the chamber throat or barrel groove...
