Walks replied to a thread 45 colt destroyed in Single Shot Guns
I lost a Uberti in .45Colt to a new reloader. Given him a box of shells to finish a match. He returned the empty brass 2 months later, loaded with .45acp 230gr bullets. I knew he was relatively new to reloading so I figured I'd dispose of them in...

Hoppe's Front Rest with it's little bag and a rear bag, on top of a 20rd cartridge box. But as I've gotten older and the arthritis has kicked in, in a Big way. I like the Caldwell recoil Sled with a 25lb bag of shot.

G.I. brass, Rem 9 1/2 primer, H4895 powder. Cheapest 147-150gr Spitzer or FMC. I can't see well enough to warrant a better bullet. No scope, just spoils the whole idea for me. But if I did scope it, then I'd need a good Sierra 168gr...

Yep, I like Checkered Wood the best. My Dad favored Carved Ivory or Stag with a lot of Bark. Of course the clunker 1911A1 We boys got to Shoot wore Brown Plastic. My Lone Surviving 1911 from the "Gleaning" of my collection to get into Cowboy...

No not there. Seat to middle of front driving band. Do a plunk test, if it doesn't pass, seat to just a smidge below the leading edge of the front driving band. If it doesn't pass the plunk test ? I don't know what to tell ya.

If take the bbl/slide assembly off a P38 and stick a loaded mag into it you will see that the bullet has a almost straight line feed path. Copied into the Beretta 92 and Desert Eagle. The Truncated Cone was designed for the P-08 Luger. In WW1...

Yes, My DAD, had a Custom one in the early 1960's. He bought 7mm Rem Mag ammo, pulled the bullets and dumped the powder. Then partially size the brass in a 7x61 S&H FL die, trim and FL Size all the way. Dump in a medium charge and seat the pulled...

My Dad used a little old portable cement mixer when I was a kid (1960's). Wish I had it.

I've shot the H&G 200gr in just about everything. It will feed in an Old Sig 220 that I have and even My Glock 21 with a Wolf aftermarket bbl. The 230gr RN at Factory Level Loads works in everything. For Powder Puff Loads I like the...

Problems can show when it goes transonic. A huge meplat is absolutely no guarantor of having accuracy problems, even when dropping back below the speed of sound.

Been shooting the Lyman #31141 & #311291 as long as I remember. Cast the #311291 & 311413 from Old Ideal 1cav molds, the #311041, #312284 from "modern" 2cav molds. All shoot well in both my Model 94's (1962 Carbine & 1981Trapper). Both Pointed...

If you're shooting from the bench, you will really appreciate a folded towel or strap-on recoil pad. Try it before you FEEL the need.

    1. My Match Champion cylinder throats measure .358, with only one a smidge tighter than the others...not enough to matter, imo. After slugging, my barrel measures .3564. I'd say those figures are within good spec., and think I should order cast...

Thanks. Almost feels like bursitis or frost bite. Constantly aches. Think I'm gonna step up the ultrasound/sonogram (whatever they call it).

I've had My 1895CB for 20+yrs and My 1895S Pre-Safety for about 40yrs. I bought the Lyman #457193 just for The 1895S. It shoots just as well in the 1895CB. And it Feeds without any problems AT all in either Rifle. Never had a problem with...

I'm lucky enough to have collected the factory type ingot molds over the last 45yrs. So I separate alloys by Ingot imprint. I think I've got 20 or so. Lyman ingots are #2 Alloy, Ohaus is Linotype and so on. My last ingot mold is a Lodge Scone...
