This is true, but you know plugs are not required, we are on the honor system now. Doesn't matter much on Lever guns but guys using Semi autos with removable mags don't seem to count very well. Down here in SE Ohio you only encounter with wardens...

I only have one right now and it's my keeper. 1st major gun project I ever did and it was mostly done in junior hi shop class back in early 60s. This gun started life as octagon barrel .25 RF. I with help of shop teacher installed a new take off...

I'm a 2 13/16ths. I'm 67 and all my rifles are pre 64wins, and other older classic type rifles. No Rem700s, Sav 110s ect. Back then I bought a lot of Weaver K series, some Redfields and last scopes I have bought were Leupold. My keepers have been...

Some of you guys are lucky, I've got 3 old 30/30s in excellent condition. I can't use them for deer in Ohio. The law is 38 cal minimum, Straight case. But I can use 45/70 or 375win. It doesn't make sense to me but I'm stuck with it. In a few weeks...

We use scrap rebar for stake and wrap coat hanger wire around stake, bend ends up to form arms to hold clays. You have to replace wire occasionally but stake last forever. We use a 1/2 dia in vice to wrap the loop for the rebar, the rebar is about...

Never saw a Cooey pump but looking at picture it resembles a pump once sold under the Noble label and I think they farmed them out to Hardware Brands. Canadian, Cooey had some ties with Winchester at one time. A couple years ago I had a single...

Just a hollow tube with completely open end will suppress to some extent. Any device that will allow the gas to expand before bullet exiting will do it. But it won't defeat a sonic crack of bullets traveling in excess of the speed of sound.

I wish I had the money to buy all the good deals I have come across. I didn't actually pass them up, I couldn't afford to buy them. To me a passed up deal is when you could have bought if you so desired. You can't let hobbies control your life.

The Norinco 97 copy is alright if you are buying toys. Not a gun I would want to depend on for Bear or 2 legged critters. $300 will buy a very nice older gun that is more dependable. I have only had one 97 knock off and that was enough. I herd...

I have had several 721, 722 & 725s. The one that is a keeper was left to me by a uncle, 722 in 222. I was with him when he got it new and a K10 Weaver scope. Excellent shooting rifle in very nice shape. I had a 721 in 30/06 for several years. A...

I fooled around one summer with a m70 300H&H and a H&R 300win, shooting groundhogs. I used Speer 130gr HPs / IMR-4350 at approx 3200fps. The H&H shot them like a Target Rifle and it was just a standard rifle. I only had a 6x on it but made a lot...

Acetone is one of the best solvents, degreasers you can use on guns. Won't hurt blue and leaves no residues. You just got to be careful not to get on any plastic parts or stocks, it will ruin stock finishes and dissolve some types of plastics.

You may want to look into a used TC Contender carbine. I'm not into break back rifles but was impressed with a TC/ scope rig that I shot last year. The other break actions all have terrible triggers.

If you are looking for lighter trigger for hunting plinking with a more less stock 10/22 you can't beat the Volkswargen kits. Their target hammer kit makes unbelievable difference in trigger pull for around $30.

Put your money in a S&W, Colt or Ruger. S&W and Colt service style revolvers are not hard to find. Price wise they run about the same as the second rate stuff like Rossi, Taurus and Chater Arms. I agree sights on DAs are not as rugged as fixed...

I got a couple 25-2s that I shoot nothing but WC cast target loads in 45AR brass. The problem with 25s is under spec throats in cylinder. Bullet gets "undersized" by the chamber , smaller dia than bore. The only thing you can do in this situation...
