I have a 52 that I got a couple years ago. I bought a new one in 1972 and played with it awhile and traded it off. This one I'm keeping. It drives the young 9mm nuts crazy ( that's because they think it's a 39 ) then one will get close enough to...

My Win 94 is 0rd at 60yds. Off rest with 150gr Hornady and Lyman 66 it will do a inch/ 5 shot. I have Marlin 336 Maurader with Lyman 66 that will edge it a little. OPs gun probably shoots better than stock sights allow. I've had many pre 64 M94s...

I've no use for a suppressor but if you have a lathe they are easy to make. The mag tube of 12g shotgun will make a excellent 22 tube. Common fender washers or mag spring retainers as baffles. Sections of 16g mag tube as spacers. Nose piece simple...

I base my alloy on WWs / known Lead. The WWs are my problem. Lead & junk lead of unknown alloy is no problem I have literally tons of it. I melt outside and pour ingots and stamp PB for lead and JK for junk. If it's Mono or Lino I stamp as well. I...

Drm50 started a thread Tin ? in Lead and Lead Alloys
I have been casting since I was a kid. The older guys that I learned from were mostly casting pistol bullets for target. Tin was easy to get in this area and was always added. They had no hi tech testers. They went by uniform ratios of WWs/ Lead and...

I worked in a Marx Toy plant back in 60s when toy guns were still popular. They had large injection moulds that had pots built in them for White Metal. One of my jobs was to keep pots up to level by adding ingots. This stuff had high percentage of...

I have had a couple H&R 45/70s that I took on trades. They shoot good but have poor triggers. There is much you can do with them in that department. I know my Bro bought one in 22Hornet and we ruined a dozen springs trying to lighten the pull.

A few months ago my brother bought Browning at Cabelas. We were plinking around with about 5 handguns and had unusual amount of duds. Some fired on second strike. It shot fine when it went off. Had duds in Ruger Mk-1 two K22s, Ruger Single-6 and...

Weaver doesn't list them by radius but they do have one piece bases in that range. I think the one for a Savage 87 22 rifle would be close. Most of them are for more than one model. Also you might check Brownells they have blank bases for custom...

I don't remember if it was Kal-tech at the time but I bought one in late 80s and it was junk. You didn't hear much about these pistols till they resurfaced in last couple years. The original might have been under another name brand.

I never had a new one but have had used. They shot ok but jammed a lot, not mag issue. One cracked the toggle link. Have no idea how many rounds may have been put through them before I got them. I had Erma 22 Lugers too. I think they were the same...

I can see the purpose of 38S&W for these old rifles. Instead of using 38S&W chamber and brass why not 38sp short chambered and trim 38sp brass down to desired length? Seems chambering would be easier to get done and 38sp brass is avaible by truck...

We use to take a 12g & 16g empty and cut off the crimp for match boxes for light anywhere matches. They were know as West Virginia Zippos. Some guys got fancy and roughed up the bottom of one brass with a file to use as a striker.

I'm in the over hyped camp. If this cartridge don't take off it will flop. It's not costing Win big retooling money on guns or the ammo. The ony brite spot is endless supply of 223 brass to reload. There is much reason to buy one unless you are...
