I use Hornady SX &SJSX 55gr in all my CF 22s from 222 to 220Swift. I picked them because of their performance on groundhogs. There are many accurate 22 bullets but they don't open up at 3000-3200 fps. The other bullets don't seem to kick in until...

Never had a TC but had a couple rifles in wasp. My load was 30gr of IMR-4895/ 55gr bullet at approx 3550fps. I don't know how that would work out in short barrel.

There use to be some decent scopes out of Germany up until 70s. They were of Weaver quality and priced about the same or less. I use to buy 4x & 6x from Graf Dist from Germany. All the good mid priced German stuff went off the market, including...

I'm not shooting any bullseye competition but have found CCI St-Vel shoots well in S&W 41, several Hi Standards, old Ruger Mk-1 and many good field pistols of major brands. Unless I was shooting in competition the cost of match ammo is a waste. I...

I have a lot of Weaver scopes bought new in 60s. At the time Weavers were not considered cheap. They were probably biggest selling scope in US. I will admitt they aren't as clear as new scopes but they never were. I won't put a cheap scope on any...

I have had a lot of Ruger Blackhawks, 3screw. At one time in 60s I had one of each in each barrel length, some pairs. All bought new. I never had any trouble with any Ruger SA that I bought new. I still buy 3screws from time to time but no new...

I've had several Krags and they all shot 308 Jackets. The last really good one I had was a Short Rifle. It's the only one I shot cast. I shot a#308278 Ideal bullet of about 195gr as cast /12.5gr Unique at about 1400fps. This shot well but no...

I shoot my own cast in all my handguns except a Ruger SBH & Brn Hp target model. The rest of my handguns are target guns that are all under 1000fps. I shoot WCs and cast them as soft as I can get away with. I killed a deer with a 242gr 45cal WC...

By the way it is about twice the gun a H&R Handy rifle is. Savage 220 was similar shotgun version of 219. Some 219 barrels will also fit Srevens 94 shotguns of early manufacture. Firing pins on shotguns sometimes need bushed and diameter reduced.
