I never saw a 1200 Trench Gun but I did see a few 1200 riot guns and Stevens pump riot guns in RVn. The MPs and Navy had them. I don't think of a 1200 Win as a gun I would want to trust my life with. We weren't issued shot guns but there were a...

I have a S&W m25-5 83/8" tuned for cast 250gr RNFP original load duplication with Unique. Very accurate and as powerful as needed for most earth based creatures.

In my book $600 is high for H&R Trapdoor. It is by no means a steal or exceptionally good deal. $600 would be what I would expect for tag price at a show. Nobody pays tag price. $400 would be a steal, so a good deal would be between $400 and $600.

My dad bought me a Marlin 1897 when I was 5. I couldn't hold it up by myself. I was given a Stevens Maynard Jr which was one of the many boys rifles made in early 1900s. Most 5yr olds don't have arms long enough or the strength to hold even a youth...

I had a nice 44 with bad bore. Had it lined and it's a good shooter. My Bro has it now with a antique scope on it. Kind of heavy to tote around the woods for a 22rf. I wouldn't be afraid to shoot any modern 22rf in a 44 but Bro shoots target ammo...

I'm one that would leave it alone. I hate to mess with any gun that shoots good. I have a S&W that I don't like, it's a 45 and I keep it because it's astounding accurate. On the other hand if a gun doesn't shoot I get rid of it and I don't care what...

The 357mg is on the minimum end of deer cartridges no matter how you slice it. I have killed deer only with 357 and 45 revolvers. Never shot one with rifle in these calibers. All under 60 yds. I could have killed them with a 22 but that doesn't make...

Problem is you can't buy new. I've looked at a dozen UL reels and can't find a good one. Mine is 4.5oz no bells and whistles. I repaired reels for 30yrs and 99% of reels on market are not worth repairing. I made my own rod to get what I wanted....

I shoot 185gr WCs in S&W m24 & m29s but target loads. I have been looking for a heavier WC for some time. I do shoot 242gr WCs in m25s 45Colt. I have 3 of them and two are sighted for 242gr WCs and a 83/8" sighted for 250gr RNFP cast. I picked up...

My first HI-Std was a HD Military that I found in bottom of my duffle bag over 50yrs ago. I've had serval different models since but always ended up trading them off. I've always held on to the HD Mil and a S&W 41. I've got several S&W 22 revolvers...

I don't think you could get a better 38sp. for all purpose gun. I shoot k38s while my 19s gather dust. Very reasonable to shoot with cast boolits. The 22 ammo panic forced me into replacing it with 38sp target loads for plinking around.

I think 5yrs is pushing it for a kid to deer hunt. Perfect time to start them shooting with a 22 rifle. Not many 5yr olds can even hold up a youth rifle. Then you have scope issue too. My family starts kids shooting early. Most get a 22 at 5yrs but...

Sounds like you need a new UL rig. My rod was made from blank of a tip section of a Fenwick fly rod, reel is a Shakespear UL2500. The smallest reel I could find. I run premium 4lb line.

I shoot 29-2s. The red ramp fronts drive me crazy. My eyes can't handle them. Every S&W I own has front replaced with a Patridge blade. The front is pinned in ramp. A higher front is what you need. I've never got satisfaction out of changing rear...

I had a 54 in 30/30 and at the time had no use for it. I also had a couple 788s in 30/30 and Savage 340s I don't know how many I've owned. Back when I had them I had no interest in 30/30s let alone a BA. I was busy with the latest mega blasters on...

I've shot the commercial 357wax bullets in Rem 141 35rem cal. It definitely keeps varmits out of yard. I shot a starling with one at about 20' and it tore it apart. Feathers came down for 5 minutes.
