I have about 3/4 of a 5gal bucket of Monotype. Have been to busy to fool with it, barely have time to cast up a supply of 44 & 45 WCs out of known metal.

The 41 is fairly easy to take apart. As others have said if it has been abused by not being properly cleaning gunk build up is like cement and needs to be dissolved before any attempt is made to remove any screws. I would take grip off and spray...

57-1 not pinned or recessed. Some say there were a few early 57-1 that had recessed Cylinders but this one doesn't. Gun in very good shape and has been shot very little. Buying S&W magnum revolvers is like buying Corvetts. They have be shot...

I've had several 351s and one 401. I did shoot a deer with a 351 but it wasn't one of mine. A buddy has a mint condition 351 that was bought new by his uncle in early 50s. The speciments I got ahold of were rode hard and put away wet, being prison...

I have done this for years. I also redrill screw cutter holes and tap to gun screw threads works good up to 6x48 after that is a little tough. They are not designed to cut hard screws. The screws in most electrical applications are not hardened...

I just thought of something the profile of both sights would have to be the same for higth when sighted in. The width is about the same, I believe Skinner longer and heavier than Williams. I could be wrong. Once either of these is sighted in there...

I have the Williams sight on 39Marlin, 10/22 Ruger & 742Rem. I like them and have had them for years. I have other rifles with Williams sight on barrel. If I wanted to I could replace the back notch sight with the peep- by just replacing blade....

I have got many S&W revolvers. As a rule I only am interested in older models, blue/ P&R. If you are buying the revolver for use and not collecting, I would not hesitate to buy a model with the lock. I don't know why guys that are buying guns to "...

Besides cast frames on old guns and the pot metal frames on newer ones in addition to large Firing Pin, nobody has mentioned head space.

I was at a gun auction several years ago. The Brady Bill was still in effect. This put a damper on sales of low end guns. People didn't want to pay $50 for a gun and pay Brady Fee. I started buying up low end handguns for trading stock, especially...

I have a bucket of S&W revolvers and I would take the 4" no dash. They print good with standard 158gr which is what they were designed for. The older S&W are a lot better fit and fininish than newer models. Shooting a few +Ps are not going to hurt...

I have never herd anyone bad mouth a S&W m10. It was probably the most issued revolver in the world for law enforcement. The design was also the most trouble free and better than Colt PPs that would have been their competitor at the time. Simple...

The 99 Savage is a slick rifle. I have owned a couple dozen of them, most 300s. I have only owned 2 of the newer models. A clip magazine 308 & 243. Both these guns were scoped and shot less than 2" at 100yds. I had no interest in them I like the...

I have seen many WW2 pistols with clear plexiglass grips. Most had a picture of girlfriend or a "Pin up girl" under them. Most had foil from cigarette pack behind the picture. Source of material was from aircraft.

I have a 1894 JM from 1970. Nothing wrong with fit and finish. I have had several other JM 94s and in middle 80s fit and finish was sliding- about the time they added safety. The recoil of a 44 never bothered me, being use to large magnum rifles....
