I would love to have #5, but can someone give me a brief rundown on what it takes to get it fit to an existing receiver?

I don't recall enough chemistry to answer definitively. An alloy is different from a mixture, but I don't know if the lead alloys we usually work with are really alloys or mixtures. I think an alloy is a compound where all elements are metals. It's...

Molecule with 3 lead and 1 selenium, so about 11% selenium. Not sure what to do with it or what the characteristics of it are. No idea what it'll do if you melt it, and no idea how hard it is. So, I don't know much.

Seems unlikely to have been caused by wet tumbling. I have had a similar problem with some filthy 9mm that I bought, but only with 1% or less of the cases and I didn't check head stamps to look for a pattern. If it bothers you just dump it all in...

The advice to call FA is good for everyone except you. If the store has a return policy I always use it. I paid for something new and in perfect working order, if that's not what I got then I take the easiest path to resolution, and that's generally...

MaryB, "decent low end" and "Older I get the more I want quality buy it once and be done with it" don't exactly go together. I have a hard time buying equipment, and usually get something more than I really need, so take my advice with that...

Welcome, and thanks for sharing your story. A great many people wait for God to answer their prayers, but you need to accept that his answer might simply be "no" or it might be complicated and take years to unfold. Sometimes you'll know, most times...

Anyone figure out what the crud/dust is? This brass cleans up well with tumbling, but there is a smell to it when wet that I can't quite place and it's driving me a little crazy.

I have a very old Unisaw, got lucky on it through Craigslist. Upgraded to a biesmeyer fence and changed the belts over to the linked style...that's been 15 years ago now, hasn't needed anything except blades since.

Here is the Maxxtech compared to FN. I see lots of brass with the smaller ledge, but this Maxxtech is something else, and very heavy.
