Conventional wisdom is to use a gas check in this application. Maybe it doesn’t make sense, but try it anyway. If you aren’t setup for them just post a WTB for some for testing and someone will probably help you out.

A whole different price point, but the larger STM unit is quiet, reliable, and able to clean a 50cal ammo can or full MFRB of brass in a couple hours. Only downside is that draining and separating requires lifting and tipping the full drum.

Should have said, not too concerned about weight and profile, but 230gr RN would be ideal.

Just 100 or so. Have this P220 barrel that fouls almost immediately with jacketed .451 bullets and accuracy is poor. Have a .452 sizer on the way, trying to decide if I should order a .453 as well Barrel is being cleaned, will slug it eventually.

Richard, don’t know you but glad that you’re getting treatment. When some treatment does not work, and that happens from time to time, don’t give up on the whole institution.

So that’s the problem, is the time-tested solution cats and dogs? We always have them at the farm and do not generally have rodent problems.

I’ve read your post a few times, and taking out the extra words leaves the question “Are modern semiautomatic handguns designed so that they only fire when the trigger is pulled?” The answer is yes. It wasn’t clear why you mentioned the SAA,...

Interesting question about mold design and technology, but would anyone want to actually shoot such a bullet? If cast hard enough not to deform then I gotta think the petals will snap off at impact. If cast soft then reliable feeding may be a...

I wouldn’t suggest a revolver for 45acp, there are far better cartridges once you’ve decided wheel gun. Then you need to decide 1911 or not. If 1911, Dan Wesson is a great choice. Very well made and good value. If not, can’t fault a Sig...

Way off topic, but I’ve heard that some of the old black powder loads (38, 44, 45) were named based on the diameter of the loaded case at the mouth. No idea if there is any truth to it.

I think that FMLA can apply if you are terminated or forced to quit, just like unemployment. Sounds like maybe he was told “show up or we’ll fire you” and he said “screw ya, I ain’t showing up!” Maybe the words were “well I can’t show up so I gotta...

Stay in touch with the shop foreman. If he wasn’t your boss I wouldn’t assume that he’s going to cut you off. You could also go back to your boss and ask him if he’s sure that he’d rather find someone new than give you a few weeks to stabilize...

The first couple sharpenings are quick and easy with a file, I’d do those touch ups right on the saw. Never have gotten two days from a chain.

“There is no sign of a light primer strike on the ejected cartridges.” Does this mean that you observed a normal indentation on the primers? If so I’d think ammo rather than gun. Have you pulled down those rounds and taken a good look at the...
