No need to leave them wet for a week. Drop them in water until they are about the same temp as the water, dry, size, let them sit.

Look closely at the case mouth of a loaded round. Any built up lead right there? It sounds like you are only expanding until the case is close to final cartridge diameter and then seating the bullet and not crimping. You want to try expanding the...

I run .38auto and 38 super +P in my 1911s. I wouldn’t give away the .38auto because I’m not sure someone wouldn’t load it as +P, but I’ve been known to give away some +P to folks that are trying to decide. Only issue is that I don’t think I have any...

I inadvertently traded away almost all my 38special. Please let me know what you have in brass 38special, I would trade 1,000 for 1,000. My SPP45acp is decapped and pin tumbled and I could roll size it if you want. Not interested in nickel, I...

Ordered some of this yesterday, ordered a few wipe-out products at the same time. Ordered via his website but called to give him a CC and ended up talking about chemistry, lubricants, past giants in the shooting sports and even Chuck Yeager for the...

All I have to add is the suggestion that for proof of concept you try to sort just one specific headstamp out of the pile. Other thought is to use image recognition vs OCR, seems that you could either rotate the pic in small increments or build...

Great points, was stuck on it only because I have a tank in the garage.

JimB.. replied to a thread annealing in Swaging
I have yet to anneal for swaging, but I like the idea of bonding the cores at the same time AND avoiding scale. I’m thinking of using a lead pot “filled” with argon and a piece of plate AL on top to minimize gas movement. Anyone tried it?

JimB.. replied to a thread FFL required?? in Our Town
Before wasting time on the transfer issue I’d research the value of each. Assuming very low I’d put them in a box to sell at the next gun buyback.

I do indeed trust the Lord, and I myself have no fear of physical death since I view it as just a transition to a new life the timing of which is entirely in His hands. That said, I’d lie to the gunman, and then I’d kill him. Of course I’d pray for...

I learned that Hornady only warrants their press to the original purchaser. Not bad service, in fact it was generally quite good and really, should I have expected free repairs for a used press, probably not. Spent a couple days looking for...

To confirm, you have 4,000 lbs of lead on a single shelf? I was thinking these things were rated for 1,000 or 1,500 per shelf. Plenty for brass, but I’m surprised that they hold lead.

JimB.. replied to a thread 380 Brass too large? in Cast Boolits
I don’t load 380, but I have a bucket of range brass some of which shows the same bulge near the base. I assume it’s a Glock thing. I have a CasePro, but it hasn’t been worth the $180 to buy the 380 dies for it since I don’t load it yet. Sorry that...

357 Super Mag is a couple hairs longer than 357 Max, maybe .05 longer. Max was created after Super Mag, probably to avoid paying royalties.
