My absolute favorite load for 45-70 is a load that for eons has done it all without hurting the rifle nor the shooter. This load has brought smiles to many faces down thru the years and will continue to do so. I stumbled on this load personally by...

I did a rooky mistake other day, i bid on a Cimarron model p 38-40 revolver and now inspecting i see it is a ASM revolver. I always thought that Uberti made all the Cimarron guns. Are these revolvers worth a dang generally? Also how do they...

You could uses 1 rifle to cover all of your stated intended uses. Either a sharps with a standard weight barrel or an 1885 with a #3 weight barrel. Keep the length 30 inches or shorter. Chamber's would fall due to readily available cases, and...

There really isn't any "hard" to load for cartridges, I would suggest staying with cases shorter than 2 5/8 in either straight or bottleneck configurations , mostly on account of the amount of powder consumed each time you pull the trigger. Loading...

Wiping is just as fast as blow tubing, maybe faster if you have your stuff laid out in an orderly fashion, and leaves a much more uniform bore condition than blow tubing no matter what the ambient temperature and humidity. Blowtubing if done...

You won't be wasting anybodies time at a match, but you will be on a good track to learning. Shooting under match conditions is a whole different world than shooting at home.

Work up your best loads at home, and what you think is going to be your favored fouling control method. Then head to a match, you'll learn more shooting in a match about how your stuff is working, than you can figure out at home in a year.

Got some starline brass and could not help myself, just had to see how much 2Fg the case would hold. Short story , 40 grains of 2Fg KIK powder. Now i had to see if my 175 grain Lee boolits would crunch the powder enough to seat without bulging...

My guess on second look is too severe a crimp and results in a bulged case where it begins to wrinkle from too much pressure on the case mouth while seating AND crimping in the same operation. Normally i seat all my boolits first, then adjust a...

Looks to me that the boolit is too fat for the chamber. Take a fired case from this rifle and measure the fired case mouth inside just below the crimp. This is the full size that your chamber will accommodate bullet diameter wise. Normally this...

Only thing i would add here, short brass has one fault and it can be a zinger for leading and accuracy. The short brass that lacks going to the end of the chambrr leaves a GAP ahead of the case mouth. This gap is a hindrance to boolits of even...
