hawkeye1 for all the bad press they get I know I will be keeping both my Lee Value turret press and my Lee Pro1000. No need to change what's already working.

Don I would have to agree. If familiar with the Lee press then it might also be worthwhile to look at the New model lee presses. There have been a number of very nice improvements made to them.

I have been loading 380acp using X-TREME 100gr plated bullets over 4.0gr of Ramshot Silhouette and unloading them in an EAA Witness Pavona. This gun really likes this combination. Have not tried any cast in it yet. Right now it might have 350 rounds...

I have been advocating this since I joined. How anyone else does it or what equipment they use is none of my business. I have no skin in their game just as none of you have in mine. I don't care if you are putting bullets together with a screwdriver...

I'll be 64 next month and feel I can easily get another 10+ years service from my old 3 hole turret and my old Pro1000. Now I'll just have to stock up on small parts before they become obsolete by Lee and we cannot get them any more.

Livin cincy had post a link here at post 18; http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?353625-New-(4)-Hole-Pro-1000 it has a full page ad. Best I can tell it has nothing in common with any of the other presses other than the die bushings.

In the ad that you linked to from Lee their ad states to visit their website for information. Only it's not there! I for one would like to see more. From what I see in the ad nothing from the Pro1000 or any of the turret presses will be...

Agreed. If I work up a load and find a 4.0gr charge works best but the volumetric disk measure or dipper will only fill to 3.8 or 4.1 then I will load to 4.1 and be perfectly happy and never know the difference in my everyday world. As I stated also...

Tolerance. We all set one at some point. Pistols, I shoot with 3 different powders; HP-38, AA#5 and Ramshot Silhouette. They are all fine grained powders and meter well. With these powers I have found I can hold pretty consistent to within 0.10gr...

. You can make it manual advance like a Dillon RL300, 450, and 550. Doing it this way would make it pretty much bullet proof./QUOTE] Over the past almost 2 years that I've been reloading again and have been using progressive presses I have read...

The problem hasn't been consistency, it's been leakage and breakage. Mine has broken twice. Last time it was in I think they replaced everything but the body. I have actually gone back to using 2 old Auto Disk measures.

An improved Drum measure would be nice. I've had mine back to Lee twice and it is showing signs again. Don't get me wrong, I love mine. It's just that it's about as reliable as a constipated bowl movement.

kmw1954 replied to a thread Dillon Value? in Reloading Equipment
As with anything it's value is only that which someone else is willing to pay for it. Now there are fools out there to be found also. At the same time I have been a fool on occasion as I've passed up deals because I thought the asking price too high.

Guess for those looking to an upgrade it may be soon or not soon enough. Still it might be worth the wait. If I didn't have as much tied up unto my Pro1000 and 3 hole turret as I do I might consider it. I just added shell plates for the 380 and the...

Don't need to retire one to get another. I have 3. One is not mounted on the bench but I have it in case I need it. That one is an old RCBS JR3 which I will keep around. Upgrade if for nothing other than pistols. I don't think you'll be...
