Thanks jimkim! I think you're right. Looks to be for muzzle loaders. One could put about a pint of lube in those grooves.

I bought a box of opened bulk 308 JWords from a for sale ad. In the box was what looked like a few odds and ends that seemed to have been tossed in from somebody's attempt to cleanup the workbench. Included was a boolit of soft lead. 55 cal,...

I wouldn't recommend a GC mold for 9mm. That's a lot of work for an auto-loader, and not necessary, generally. Gas checks triple the materials cost for me as well.

Per our PM, I'll take: 8. RCBS Uniflow with some rust missing handle and frozen up, dirty hopper. Should be functional with TLC.

I have loaded a fair amount of the Lee 120-TC and the 125 2R. Would recommend the TC over the 2R. The TC I've found more reliable feeder for different guns. The issue is if a gun has minimal throat, then the 2R must be seated SHORT. At least one...

The NOE molds that I've had threw bullets that were a little girthy, not unlike what you're experiencing. Seems like they want to ensure that you'll contact your sizer and bias tolerances in that direction.

Fred, I tend to agree. I asked Veral to cut one cavity of my 200 gr WFN mold with a GC. On hindsight, I wish I'd gone plain base on all 4 cavities. I run the PB to 1250 fps with no issues. It takes a lot of work to make enough gas checked boolits to...

A little tin, a hotter mold and powder coating should get the diameter needed.

I echo what others have said. My experience with plated bullets shows that they have a speed limit. You might look at Precision Delta. Great prices on jacketed bullets if purchased in bulk.

It is interesting. Business dealings, being fluid as they are. I've wondered about the Dillon beam scale that I've suspected to be an Ohaus make with a different frame than the 505. The other parts look identical.

Here is a link for the 5-0-5. A search on Amazon will find the 502 as well. PM me if you want a copy of the data sheet from Ohaus that was emailed to me today. Hopefully these work as well as the originals. The selection of USA made beam scales is...

Years ago, they were one-in-the-same. The exception being labels and color. Both manufactured by Ohaus in the US. I am unable to confirm this, but I believe current production of the 10-10 has been offshored, so it is likely not identical to the US...

This is an interesting thread. I've owned 3 beam scales and sold a Redding oil dampened scale. I've settled on my Ohaus 10-10 and RCBS (Ohaus) 5-0-5. I also recently, out if curiosity, spent some time with check weights running up and down the...

About 50 pounds or about 2100 boolits. That was a lot of inspection, coating and sizing to follow! Combination of NOE 5 cav, LBT 4 cav, and one or two double cavity, if I recall correctly.

Neuces5, that sounds like a good plan. I like the 120 TC better than the 125 2R profile. Powder coating is simple and effective. No smoke or mess. I see no reason to not go straight to PC for your volume 9mm loads.

That last idea is golden! Kind of like the difference between the Redding pass-through brass sizer vs the Lee Bulge Buster. The Redding is faster since you just drop in the case! I'm using this one!

244, that is true of some Glocks but the 17 has relatively good case support. But that is good advice for any auto-loader. For Glocks, I have a strong preference for powder coating. Very good accuracy vs copper plated.

Looks like a touch much. Recommend backing off a bit. The main issue with skipping the powder through expander is that the Universal Expander does nothing to set the interior diameter of the neck, whereas the shank of the powder through expander...

With gas checks, I set them by running through an NOE sizer. Then PC and size again. Since PC adds diameter, I've had trouble placing checks on after powder coating. Like Fred says, press mounted sizers are quick. I was 0/2 with Lee sizers...

i can't speak more highly of the LBT 402-200-WFN. The question is whether your XD will feed them or not. They run well in my Glock 20. Veral cut one cavity as a gas check, and 3 plain base. The PB loaded to 1250 fps with Accurate no. 9 is a...

My choice would be a hybrid if cost were no issue. Sizer would a Redding Titanium Carbide sizer. Expander would be an RCBS fitted with a Cowboy M expander plug assembly. Seater would be an RCBS with the appropriate seating stem to match...
