Yep they are Baker rifles I forget the caliber somewhere in the upper .50's lower .60's if I remember right. I always chuckle when they do that load, spit, tap routine cause its a great way to put a ball through your own head but its great for the...

What is a good mold to use in a hornet and the classic question to gas check or not to gas check? Iv'e been thinking about the lee 55 gr but I know 55 is heavy for a hornet.

Hornets are a lot of fun especially when they shoot great. A couple of weeks ago I got a uberti baby rolling block in hornet and have been playing around with it but loading it as more of a .22 WCF with jacketed bullets than a hornet. I can report...

When you disassemble or reassemble a cylinder its a good idea to put an empty case in one of the chambers. This takes the stress off the pins that guide the extractor "star" into the cut in the cylinder.

For a light load try 10.0 grs of unique and for a regular load try 38.0 grs of imr 3031 it pretty much duplicates the Gov't carbine load.

I didn't know the Egyptians used Swedish steel & engineers that Bofors steel is nice stuff. I was basing my opinion on Egyptian rollers Iv'e seen that were not Remington marked and looked like they were cobbled together in uncle Farouk's garage.

Around here a trapdoor that matches your description would be a 300 - 400 rifle as for the Egyptian if its a real remington I'd say 175-200 but if its an Egyptian made gun I would pass due to questionable metallurgy.

That's a pretty weird occurrence. Just out of curiosity did you try fluxing with a lot of beeswax? To see if the dress went away.

If the firing pin indent on the primer looks like a tear drop that is a sign of opening too soon and you do need a heavier recoil spring.

Another trick you can try is to remove one of the weights from inside the buffer. This will allow the bolt carrier to generate a little more force on its rearward stroke.
