That one picture to me looks like the case head is a little too deep in the chamber and considering that they don't show the barrels caliber marking it makes me wonder if someone put a .308 in an .30-06. Iv'e seen 2 other barrels split lengthwise...

I watched a guy at the range I worked at beating the lever of his 336 marlin against the shooting bench trying to close the action. When I got to him and tried to help his first response was I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING then I asked if I could take a look...

When Marlin brought back the 1894 they used the old style tab held in with a roll pin like the 336 & 1895. I had one in .357 it broke too. I think Marlin went to this design not because of breakage but its just a simpler way (cheaper) to make the...

Iv'e got an 1894cl in .32-20 and its making me nuts. Twice the carrier plunger button has come un-staked from its retaining cap and the second time it stretched out the spring so I can't just put it back together again. Are these plunger kits I see...

If it's the .30-06 model don't bother. I had one for a while and it didn't shoot like I expected it to no matter what load I tried the best I got was about an inch and a quarter. My old bdl will do 3/4" of an inch with almost no regard for ammo. So...

Has anyone tried RL7 in a.32-20 rifle? My pet load is with unique but I have data for RL7 as well as the powder. Going by the book it seems to be in the same pressure and velocity range as unique but is it as accurate?

Check and see if it's listed in DeHass's book on single shot rifles. If it is then you will have data to go on.

1Hawkeye replied to a thread Cheap India guns in Muzzleloading.
Most of those junkers from India are made for the tourists as wall hangers. I can't believe someone was actually stupid enough to fire one. If he really is a reinactor then he knows that the maximum charge for a round is 60 grs and no wadding.

Well its my project now plus I have to go back tomorrow and pick up a nice marlin 39a that showed up. One thing that might be a problem is the primers of fired rounds stick out just enough to catch a finger nail on. I'm hoping its not a headspace...
