jimlj replied to a thread Robocalls in Our Town
I only have a cell phone. If I don't recognize the number calling, I don't answer it. When it goes to voice mail my message is "If your call is important to you, leave a message. If it's important to me, I'll call you back." The ones that matter...

jimlj replied to a thread Marvel Mystery Oil in Our Town
Does MMO turn your on road diesel red? I have never been checked but I have been hesitant to add anything to "clear" diesel that would give the appearance of off road diesel. I do add 2 cycle oil from time to time, but never have used any red oil.

jimlj replied to a thread Marvel Mystery Oil in Our Town
When I bought my '66 Mustang, the engine hadn't been started in over 8 years. It was stuck when I bought it. I removed the spark plugs and put about 6 pumps of MMO from a squirt can in each cylinder and let it sit for several days. After working the...

jimlj replied to a thread Small tractor in Our Town
Ford tractors introduced 9n 1939 2n 1942 8n 1947 Give or take 6 months I think all the 9 and 2n had 3 speed transmissions, 8n had the 4 speed. I have a 2n that might get a drag hooked to it once in a while. When growing up we had a 8n with a...

jimlj replied to a thread Small tractor in Our Town
The 8n was introduced over 60 years ago, and was a good tractor at the time. It still beats trying to pull any kind of implement with a pickup, and still will do most tractor type tasks. Having said that, how many of drive a 60 year old car, when...

I have seen something to the affect of "do a ladder test" when working up a load for a boolit. I didn't want to hi-jack the thread, so can someone tell me what a ladder test is and how to go about doing it?

I was just kind of jabbing JonB. I too have replaced many transformers that had been shot in the oil fields of Wyoming. Usually the first few days of hunting season each year. I guess with enough adult beverages the bushings might look like antlers.
