It's called planned obsolescence. They perfected the concept with personal computers. The one that get's me is cars. The new cars are created to be obsolete in 7 years or so. I am still driving my 1999 Civic that I bought new. I contend that it is...

Sounds like a capacitor gone or going bad to me. The sound amp in those things are pretty cheap. Do you ever hear a high pitch squeal ...not through the speakers but coming from inside the TV? If so it is definitely a bad cap. If there is any way...

I asked the local butcher what the difference between "liver sausage" and braunschweiger was. He said, "Braunschweiger is smoked". Maybe he made that up. I like Braunschweiger but not liver sausage so much. My mother used to put a few drops of...

I broiled some venison liver "rare" one time. Just about 2 min per side. That was the very best any meat either my wife or I have ever had.

I tried some cheap zinc plated bb's when I first started wet tumbling. I also used some zinc plated steel wire that I cut into little chunks like SS pins. Fearing the zinc, I ran them through a tumble operation without cases BUT I put in some...

It is better to let things cool down before confronting someone. I have made that mistake many times. Get hot about something and call them only to get further frustrated. Whereas calling after cooling down generally gets things done. As they say...

Doing some more research on those old white felt boots that we used to call "bunny boots"...This is what the correct name is (I gather) U.S.ARMY WWII 10TH MTN FELT DOUBLE BUCKLE BOOTS ARTIC ISSUE. They were made by A.R. HYDE & SONS CO. There are...

I think that someone has changed the association of what "bunny boots" are. White mickey mouse boots were called white mickey mouse boots when I was a kid. Bunny boots were the kind with felt on the outside. I much prefer the felt bunny boots. BUT...

Back in the 60's we would get mickey mouse boots and bunny boots from Army/Navy surplus stores. They were warm for that era. Bunny boots were my favorite. However they could only be used when the temp was well below freezing. The outside of the boot...
