As long as people are adding to this thread... Yesterday night I hauled out my new to me Handi Rifle in 45/70. I bought it about a month ago and just put it away. I was curious last night to see if it was leaded. Sure enough. I went lead mining...

I just got my Handi SB2 a month ago and already wanting more barrels...lol. I guess they are hard to come by nowadays though. I wish they still made them. I am impressed with the quality of this gun. I can't imagine them going any lower than $200...

Just a fyi: I installed a BBQ thermometer in my toaster oven. I found that when I first turn it on and set it to the setting I use (380F) it will go up to 500 degrees then finally the thermostat will kick in and it will go back down to 380. Then it...

OK, I think that I fully understand now. I'm glad to be having this discussion publicly for the sake of others who may wish to make this rig. I don't need one of these at this time and since you have successfully made them, this is for the benefit...

OK, I drew a picture of what I think this decapper looks like in a bucket of water with a case inside ready to be smacked with a hammer. Let me know if there are errors. P.S. I don't think you would need the seals if the plunger was a tight fit...

Thanks for that great advise. I just finally ran some patches through the barrel and sure enough ...lead mining. This has convinced me to take all 40 cartridges and pull them. Might as well dump the IMR 4320 powder and get something decent for this...

I just read the page you suggested, "David A Cushman Hydraulic Decapping Whamadet". I wonder if it would be against any rules or laws to link it here?

@ n.h.schmidt This sounds great. Thanks. Far more refined that my idea. Saved me a ton of experimentation. Thanks. Couple of questions: What is the tube made out of. And does the base of the shell casing seal to the bottom of the tube well enough...

As long as we are talking about primers on the priming thread it is fine to discuss methods of removal. I just get carried away with explaining my methods and should edit first instead of throwing thoughts out there. I'm sure others would like to...

Thank you, Red Bear, for the reminder, I was raised in a dysfunctional environment and did not learn some very important things that help with life. Many of those things involve dealing with other people. But I became a Christian when I was older...

Thanks Ned, I just watched three videos on decapping Berdan. Being new to the reloading world, I really had no idea even how Berdan primers worked. Now that I see, Looks a lot simpler to be reloading Berdan primed brass than boxer. (If one does not...

On another note, I have been considering the development of a 3.5mm round from a necked down 22 rim fire. Specifically for shooting ducks in the city. Any ideas?

I just got back into shooting about 3 years ago. Hadn't shot a gun since 1985 last deer hunt. But lately I have gotten back into it with a passion. Just can't afford much. When I started I couldn't find 22lr ammo so I embarked on a mission of...

I have shot few deer in my life...not so many that I have to record them to remember. My way to record them is my memory. I don't mind telling the stories of each one though.
