Richodg66, If it consistently shoots low and doesn’t function reliably it is a basket case, suitable only for display purposes. The good news is We are starting a non-profit museum dedicated to preserving such artifacts. Your J C Higgins model 60...

Now that would be a marketable idea. Plus it appeals to the Something New and Different crowd. When everyone has a PPC or two a fairly quite, non powder actuated weapon could be the new niche. Plus the Dems would stay up nights figuring how to...

A range specific safety course would be a start, as long as it was thorough. But I wouldn’t accept it at a different range unless I knew the instructor. Around here the ranges charge $15 to $20 / hour for one shooter in a lane with added fees for...

JonB, without a doubt you’re right. I can see raw materials prices rising some and manufacturers costs to be Covid compliant adding a little. But only a blind optimist would argue the increased prices of ARs isn’t a result of a panic driven...

Reloading components & ammo; historically gasoline, N-95 masks, etc. When panic, crisis or other real or imaginary events cause a price to skyrocket; the post-event price seldom, if ever drops back down to near pre-event levels. Paper towels are...

One thing I’ve come to learned since joining this forum is to keep enough components on hand to weather extended shortages. Loaded ammo, and primers are virtually out of reach. I haven’t looked at powder yet. Plated and jacketed projectiles are...

As stated by others there are a lot of positive aspects to the influx of new gun owners. Shooting is fun, it’s up to us to expand on that basic idea to protect and further our common hobby. I understand the ‘give the gun-grabbers an inch’...

OP posed an interesting question. We shouldn’t completely write off Ammo manufactures’ interest; they are after all profit driven. Look at the variety of small arms types now on the market compared to 25 years ago. Back then people bought...

Anyone that knows me knows I’m seriously pro 2A. This will probably Ruffle some feathers but having been a RSO both before and after the ‘everybody buy a firearm’ panic I have my own opinions. A whole lot of completely inexperienced people have...

I’m thinking even if things get back to normal supply-wise we can assume 20% rise in prices for components. Just hope five years down the road we aren’t reminiscing about when primers were 10 cents.

Just saw $250.00 bid for 1,000 SR primers and the auction isn’t finished yet! I used to get ticked when Bass Pro wanted $40.00 per 1,000. Ads abound for 9mm SD ammo at $1.50 a round. Can’t wait to see what the proposed ‘micro-engraved’...

Lyman 55 + baffle will do fine. I use all 3 slides for a straight measuring chamber. Takes some set up and judicious use of rapper but less than .1 grain variation consistently.

Not to hijack the thread but try finding a new gloss blue/black scope. I know it isn’t perfect for reflecting light & spooking game but I have a late 60’s / early 70’s Sako with the deepest blue finish I’ve ever seen. It has a period German scope...

My preference when selling 1) USPS MO; 2) personal check (thing about check is it shows up in my account day after deposit but if the issuing bank declines to pay it, the money is debited back out, some times 8-10 days later); Cash (I’d never ask...

Facts are facts. Big Corporate owned ‘Sporting Goods’ chains are profit driven and media sensitive. Their public relations managers can’t sleep worrying about the media tracing a murderous firearm back to their stores. The media is anti-firearm...
