I lost a tire on the way. Now that I have new tires, they should make it in the mail tomorrow.

    I use, and like, HS-6 in 44 Mag. I use it for midrange loads. Using Lee TL430-240SWC in a Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter. 10g. HS6 - 947 fps 10.5g HS6 - 1000 fps 11.5g HS6 - 1125 fps Standard Deviation (SD) are low 2-digit, usually under...

The Latin word for lead is 'plumbum'. It refers to the color. Pure Pb is purplish when heated hot. That's where we get the word for a 'plum', the fruit - the color of lead. That's why plumbers are called plumbers - from the Latin word for...

Probably true, but.... I'm hoping that a softer alloy, with a faster powder, will allow the boolit to obdurate earlier in the barrel. I was using AA #7. I'm going to try some Universal, along with the softer boolit. We'll see what happens.

That purple color is something, ain't it ? First time I rendered pure, I got it far too hot, and ended up with purply (that's a word, right?) ingots. Keep the heat a bit lower next time, they'll look a lot different.

When Mrs Bookworm decides it's time to 'deep clean' the house, I find something pressing to do in the barn. Or under the truck. Or in the garage. Or, go cut cedars - a seemingly endless job.

Mixed up some alloy - 50/50 CWW/pure. About 80 lbs worth. I've been working with a Ruger 3-screw 41 Mag. Tried Lee TL410-210-SWC, water-quenched CWW @ 1145fps, and got leading from the forcing cone to the middle of the barrel. I'm thinking the...

Yep, Trap 100 was discontinued in the late 80's. I have some, and looked a good long while to find burn rate charts with it listed. By the way, I love Trap 100 in 9mm..... I'll be disappointed when I run out of it.

WCP4570 was nice enough to PIF a set of TruLine Jr .257 Roberts dies. I have a reasonably well stuffed SFRB of cast 9MM boolits. Maybe it is 38 SWC boolits. Could it be 180 grain round flat boolits from a NOE mould to fit a 40 S&W? I'm so...

I seat to 1.05". The crimp groove is not completely covered, but doesn't cause me any problems. Looks a bit odd, but then so do I. I shoot that boolit in 3 different 9's. Very good accuracy, at least at the distance I regularly shoot 9's, which...

I've been wearing Redwing boots for about 35 years, since 1982-ish. All that time, I have brushed the dirt & grit off, and painted the boots liberally with Redwing Boot Oil. Let dry overnight, wipe off the excess and go. My boots last about 5...

.177, .22, and .25 are all good air rifle choice. The faster ones are not silent. However, they are not real loud!
