You don't need a CAD program to print parts someone else has designed. You do need one to design your own parts. The right CAD program can print your parts for you without a slicer, though with one, you can use any model designed for 3D printing....

SolidWorks is only $20 for veterans, not a lot more than that for other students. Fusion 360 keeps changing the interface, and their licensing requirements. Makes it harder to learn to use, and harder to tell when they're going to run you out. Every...

I resemble that remark! I'm 65, and the brain just doesn't seem as agile now. Got a bachelor's at age 50, with a 1-year graduate component, then started a masters, and got about half-way through it before I realized I was never going to be a teacher...

I used to handload flechette rounds for my break-top Iver-Johnson .38S&W. Brass brazing wire cut to about an inch length, on 3 grains of bullseye, I think it was. Probably too hot for the gun. They would not be legal here in Oklahoma. Law says...

If I ever get the workshop kicked into shape to use, I'll be making center-fire breech blocks for the Stevens rifles. I've got a couple of hundred rounds of .32 Long Colt brass, a suitable boolit mold, several powders that should work, and 100 SPP...

I have tried several programs over the past 25 years, first for 2D drawing, and then 3D, with not enough success to notice. Did also have a lot going on, so never got a lot of time to practice. I'm in the very beginning of trying again, for 3D, with...

I was just a kid then, but it wouldn't surprise me. I know that some of the folks there, cops, civilians, and guardsman, say they heard gunfire from a distance. I heard & in some cases read those reports many years latter, though.

So you're planning on sniping opponents over 1,000 yards (or meters) with a .25 HVRF? I'm not seeing that happen. Though if you want it bad enough, I suppose you can make it happen. I'm gonna bet it would be a lot heavier than my Stevens Favorite. ...

I'm hoping someone will bring back the .32 RF, and RF Long. Seems like great calibers to me, and I've got a Stevens boys rifle in each caliber.

And you know that because? I've been retired for nearly as long as I was in, but I think you misjudge most of the folks in the current military. Yes, there are some who will go along, both military and police. There are also some who won't. I'm...

Might want to switch to DuckDuckGo or Dogpile. IMO DuckDuckGo works much better. Dogpile is a search engine of search engines. Google is liable to bar you (and us) any day now, and they definitely skew their search results to people who pay them....

I turned the Brave shields back on, and specifically blocked scripts to make it go away. Now I'll see if this interferes with my use of the site. I've had the shields off up until now for CB.

Kinda depends on how old (or young) you are. There was a kit gun called the JACO Western single shot .22LR pistol. Break action, but looked like a Western-style revolver from the side. I've got a pdf of the plans if anyone is interested. One of the...

I'm hoping I have a mind left to lose, but I'm not all too certain of it. Been using some sort of electronic organizer gadget for at least 30 years now. Started with the old Casio DataBank watches, then their pocket organizers, and on and on, up to...

Someone else already mentioned Grainger, so I'll mention McMaster-Carr. They have stuff Grainger doesn't, and vice-versa, so it's good to have both in your toolbox, so to speak. ;) You can get felt at the hobby art suppliers, as well, but it's...

Well, I'd suggest no one else buy it. The USB-C part is an adapter, and I'm not sure it works, though it did detect a camera. It has a cute little USB-A connector the swivels out of the way to expose a micro-usb connector, but I couldn't get it to...
