Rim diameter on the 9x23 is .394. The rim on a 38 Super with the old style semi-rimmed case is .406. The rim on the 40 S&W is .424. The rim on the 10mm is .425.. The difference between the 10mm and the 9x23 rims is .031 so you divide that by 2 to...

That's weird. I shot many thousands of the Hornady swaged bullets out of 44mag and 45acp guns before getting into casting. Never had an issue with leading.

I built a .450 Marlin bolt action and I've owned many 45-70s. The .450 is a smart version of the .458x2 wildcat. The belt is thicker front to back to prevent an idiot from touching one off in his 7mm mag etc. It is a great round IME with cast and...

I loaded these j words last fall and just tried them today. 4 clicks right on the old Weaver and good. Time to load more cast but this answers the question- do I clean the barrel between cast and jacketed? Nope. 100 yards. Sent from my...

I've been shooting for a lot of years and a lot of calibers. First let me say the U.S. major brands aren't the same brass cases they were way back. For that matter some of them don't even make their own brass. Okay I've never liked Remington...

As I stated about more and more newer 38 Super cases are rimless like the 9mm's.

Back in the early days when Tasco's were made in Japan, for the money, they were tough to beat!!! The new ones are kind of junky. Also in the early days Tasco has a scope mount with rings called the World Class scope mount and it's second to...

I don't have any 9x23 cases, but I'm sure you know that both the 9mm Luger and 9x23 have a fatter web area then a Super. the Super actually IS a straight case. When I made the 9x23 barrel for my Tokarev I used the 9x23 reamer and shoot only 38...

Most the 38 Super brass you buy today is the rimless stuff. Starline calls it Comp. I've also bought a lot of once fired 38 Super cases and the mixed brands are Aguila, AA, Sig, Jag, Federal, S&B, and another one that has some A's in the stamp. None...

You can move the rear base to the tapped hole near the bolt handle. One screw will hold it fine on a .22Hornet. Extension rings are available as well for today's short tube scopes. An old steel fixed power Weaver would be correct for that rifle in...

Deputy Dog, I'm certain there's a warrant out for you because you STOLE that 788! The 123 yr old 30-30 cartridge continues to fascinate me but even more so out of an accurate bolt action. I love my Winchester 94 for short range hunting but...

Moleman- replied to a thread Gun Safe in Cast Boolits
I've been looking at safes now for the last couple years. So far it seems they've gotten much lighter since I got my last one 20 years ago. The front plate on the door on mine is around 1/4" thick and doesn't move if you put your knee on the door...

I'm sure you know you should use a 9mm/38super slide for them right? I've done all these years ago. Also you will have to change your 45acp ejector and the 9mm/38super also have a differenc slide stop. I've also done a 9x23 on Tokarev.

Loosen the rear guard screw. Maybe the spacer is missing that keeps the stock from compressing?

GPC Numrich should have .357 extractors, if not possibly an old .22 Jet. Of course you can adapt a .22 Hornet or .223 extractor to fit.

Uberti has said this: "Our '76 is good with any powder/bullet combo that the pressure does not exceed 28,000 CUP." From my research the thing that made Winhester's "toggle link" action weak wasn't the type of systme, but rather the metal back...

Some of these are early hunts but during both the early and the 1865 - 1879 the large commercial hunts had over a 1,000 carts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Métis_buffalo_hunt https://tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/dxb01 ...

Thanks Artful, I'm always more excited when he gets a deer v/s when I get one. He had a couple hand warmer packs, but he gets cold easily like his mom. Keep telling him to grow his beard out so at least his face won't get cold.
