You know, I haven't worked with the rifle HP's but if I did, I think I'd go tin rich in hope that the tin would help them to hang onto their weight because of the greater malleability the tin adds. I've noticed that with the tin rich lead only,...

Tripplebeards... Try plugging those HP's with silicone, that'll stop the hair-n-hide from plugging that hole and affecting expansion. With this .38S. I tried to get them to open like a turbo prop. Imagine the internal damage they could cause....

I don't like the idea of driving steel rods down my barrels so fire and water trap all my slugs. I first cast pure lead bullets for a particular caliber and powder coat them. I load a very light load, just enough of a charge to clear the barrel,...

Well...here comes the arguments about expansion & then comes the FBI's standards and their test media...bla, bla, bla...but, I can tell you this, I learned a lot about blending casting metal and projectile speed while playing with expansion...let...

That's a dang good idea. I bet it would really narrow the tenth's spread on the large 'corn-flake' powders. I'm gonna have'ta mull on this idea...thanks.

Probably just the ravings of an old man, but I see all the things that defined America fast disappearing. On a positive note just this past week I cast 18K of a variety of bullets, so my plan is on it's way. Just as a mind game if I shoot 100...

Arise from the dead… EPHESIANS 5:14 Not all initiative, the willingness to take the first step, is inspired by God. Someone may say to you, “Get up and get going! Take your reluctance by the throat and throw it overboard— just do what needs to be...

Ditto what Bangerjim said. PC is already giving approximately a 5% increase in velocity and keeping your barrel cooler due to its lack of friction.

Yes. the pour tube does go through the burner. I did this and made the tube out of brass so it would stay hot and flow. That is the only complaint I have with my RCBS Pro Melt is the steel pour tube is the last thing to heat up. I keep a micro...

That's pretty much how I feel about PMC, I lost count somewhere around 18 times reloaded (got my sub batches mixed together by accident when cleaning them) but I've been running exclusively about 600 cases from prolly 5 years ago...my loads are not...

Here are more photos and I have to say I didn't take a lot of time with this build as I originally planned on using it only once back in 2012 when the shelves were bare (Sandy Hook). I got back into casting then out of necessity and this was to be a...

Very handy indeed with small charges...RCBS Little Dandy...sometimes the answer is very simple. I like the adjustments on the Lyman 55 and it'll handle certain powders better than the Dandy ...I use both of them.

The bottom line on an ingot moulds is... > are they stackable in an efficient manner? Turn them all the same direction and stack them in 1/2 the space..do they drain the ingot pot quick? > do they fill the pot on the first load?

I remove all the screws in a mold and coat the threads with a anti-seize compound that contains copper or nickle, the stuff you can buy at an auto parts for coating spark plug threads. It is good for 1800F+ degrees, but don't over do it on the...
