Yeah, the property was bought by her late husband. It wasn't really anything she wanted to be involved in but when he died she continued to rent it out. Now with all of this going on she's working on evicting and selling ASAP.

There was a lease but when the occupant was jailed he became unable to pay so he's been notified that his lease is broken, eviction notice sent.

Thanks a lot, everybody. With luck they'll be cleared out by the end of June. Eviction notice was served to the tenant (jailed) and a copy posted at the house, plus the local police found sufficient grounds to 'visit' the property.

A friend of mine owns a small rental down there (I don't know which part of Fla). Last month her tenant got thrown in jail and won't be back any time soon and his drug addict friends have moved into the house. Apparently he was renting rooms to...

I don't think the screw is off center, I think the shadow just makes it look that way. Those are some odd scratches on the nose though. If it's homemade it's decent quality.

If there HAD to be taxes and if the VAT was The Way To Go I might support that but ONLY if there were no others.

I'm hoping everyone else bugs out, I'll stay behind and make some improvements to my home. But if I HAD to bug out the "box" would look more like a 14' U-haul truck.

No big deal. If I can't find something locally I'll buy it from whoever is cheapest, taxed or otherwise. Calling for a boycott over this is just eating our own.

And that's exactly why a lot of folks shouldn't buy a handmade knife. Sure it's their money and they can spend it as they wish, it's also their knife and they can treat it as they will but I hope most of them avoid true quality until they're able to...

For what it's worth BiS didn't question anyone's need. I didn't need or want half the guns in my collection until a good friend with a C&R license and a heart filled with evil talked me into them. Years ago I longed to own a "Toyota Stopper" but...

I shoot at two public ranges, both have strict rules and ROs. That's pretty much the way it has to be these days when I'm shooting alongside 'anyone and everyone.'

I own one hand-made knife and I love it. I also love the Case "Mako" I bought in 1980 for $40. Mass production gets products that are 'good enough' into the hands of the general public at an affordable price.

I wonder if the owner made it for something entirely different, not firearm-related at all. Or it might never have been a cartridge (op says its thicker than a case should be), maybe part of a toy or a gun-themed trinket. It's not a bottle opener.

No idea. It can't be chambered, though the rimmed end could be set into the bolt face. Maybe a home made chamber flag or action lock. With that thing in place the bolt could never close.
