s strip of paper in the pipe is all you need. I anneal gas checks in a 'pipe bomb' in the wood stove, the paper eats up the oxygen when it hits about 650-700F and chars off. I have looked at a lot of these kilns too, the paragon is a pretty good...

or turn up the air. I think I was running with about 50 lbs with the magma lube. I would rather run a little cool and more air then the other way around.

definitely save those zinc ww's. they seem like a scrap metal to our casting purposes but they have a whole bunch of usefulness.

like leaning an aluminum lamp against the tube. or using the hair dryer like I suggested. even with the magma heater I use a heat gun so I don't over shoot or have to wait, if it's cold in the shop.

Charlie: you put it under the pot, then you push on the handle. my pots spout fills 2 cavity's at once, doing a 3 or 5 cavity mold can be a little bit of a challenge. that LBT would be a breeze.

Apologise for the "nitpick" but a "fowling" shot would be from a shotgun aimed at duck or goose. A "fouling" shot is used to condition a clean dry bore before going "for record." Rant mode off...

Do a search on this forum for "6.5 Carcano" and "Jeff in NZ". He owns a 6.5 Carcano and has been shooting lead in his for a long time and has several times passed that knowledge into the forum here.

In my rifles 80 grains of Goex 3Fg gives the same velocity as 100 of Goex 2Fg or 90 grains of Swiss.

If the .30-30 bore is in poor condition a .32 Special may not clean up on a rebore. Also, the older pre-WW2 nickel steel barrels are problematic as to being able to get good interior finish on a rebore. Relining costs about the same when done...

2400 used to be marked as a rifle powder too. it got it's name from being the powder used to get 2400 fps from the 22 hornet.

if you don't get all the alox off the powder won't stick. you might want to try another lubricant for sizing. dish soap or line pulling lube or even LEE case sizing lube. they should be water soluble and easy to get off.

I don't go super light I seem to have better luck with the 125 gr boolits. a 125 on top of 4grs of 231 fly's straight enough to pop squirrels in the trees or rabbits with enough oomph to make sure they been hit. 3 grs of red-dot and bulls-eye seem...
