It turns out I have been making an error in the model numbers of these three rifles - they are Toz 17's. The last one being a Toz 17 01, which is a later model. It's bolt is different but fits and works in 17's and the magazine and magazine well...

I don't know which is better, PB or GC based. I was getting cupping which is not necessarily bad. What I think is bad is an uneven trailing edge. The GC design would eliminate that problem. Then again, the GC rebate might be smaller than the...

My last outing proved to be a success with the polished chamber in this 6.5WSM barrel. Only had two rounds that produced bolt lift pressure, the 3167 and 3115 fps shots which are 100% certain to be due to excess pressure spike then a rough chamber....

Posted results of my 141 grain bullets in a previous 6.5 thread. I did find the upper end of the pressure limits for my 178 grain out of the 6.5WSM, at 71.0 grains it blew two primers. This was at a fps of 3080 with the CCI BR2 primmer. Here...

You didn't mention whether or not you weighed the boolits. I've had nice looking boolits having cavities that showed up after firing. That kind of thing could explain the extreme flyers. When I did have success with paper patching, I was using...

That can be removed by degreasing then applying bluing salts using fine steel wool. Be sure to remove the bluing salt residue and drying before oiling or it will start rusting! Oiled brass wool works too but doesn't restore the bluing but does...

That's interesting, Barra. I now need to choose a bullet. There are a few choices to make - 110gr 32 bullets, 308 125gr and 310 123gr. I have a long barreled lightweight gun that would suite mild loads for small game and a heavy gun that would...

They say this 6.5WSM is a potential barrel burner, which is why I had the barrel Nitride processed, with this treatment it is possible to extend the life of a barrel many times over. In the 100 rounds or so I put down the tube before Nitride I...

I'm glad this thread came up because I have had this idea of patching up a 125-ish bullet fo fit the throat of a 303 Brit. I have patched a small cast boolit that shot very well in one with an enlarged throat in spite of the jump. The patched...

Internal pin or external punch may be blocking hole. How hard is the lead? Pure or a mixed alloy? As long as bleed hole is not blocked the lead should flow. Using any lube? Bt
