Thanks for the thumbs up, Dan. Bill, I've done most of my testing into a 'test tube' so depending on velocity, I catch the patch fragments. With heavier loading and I find very little patch remnants. The catch medium is rubber tyre grounds...

Bear in mind my buckshot loads are generally loaded to be lower pressure not for my shoulders sake but just to be a bit more comfortable shooting them in damascus and twist barrels . About the only size I load for a 12 gauge 2 3/4” at present is...

I’ve been using junky el cheapo Lee 2 cavity molds for 0000 (.380”) and 00000 (.395”) . I could order six cavity ones from Track of the Wolf but I cast enough already with the two cavity jobs to last me a good long while .

I had a similar problem like the OP's, but with a box of CCI's that were so old the boxes were black and white....probably early sixties vintage and God knows how they were stored before I got them. Seemed like 1 out of every 5 didn't go off. I...

Of all the calibers I listed in my updated vendor page here this one has seen the most views in the last week or so. I already have a set of dies in stock and a reamer for the 7mm. It is a standard 7s ogive profile. I do get a few inquires...

I have been a bit delayed on my work order list. As many of you can imagine with ammo and reloading shortages hitting the shelves I have been answering a lot of inquires from new shooters interested in becoming first time swagers. Rest assured I...

As many of you have seen swage dies can possibly represent a substantial investment. I realize this could and probably has turned away many potential shooters from the freedom of swaging their own bullets. I do everything I can in my attempts to...

The die you describe with the "fat" adjustment screw is, in fact, their 'universal' decapping die. It has no expander or sizing capability, just the depriming pin and that's what I ordered. Now, back to the bench....................:)

Years ago I wanted to try zinc boolits for my Brit. The idea being that it needs a decent size boolit so zinc being lighter and stronger would give me fit, strength and high velocity. Well, I never got that far so it's great seeing someone...

I examined the expander with the idea of just removing the ball and found that it's actually the decap pin retainer also! In other words, it's all one piece.......so there went THAT idea. I found a separate universal decapping die, so I'll just...

When you tumble do you leave media in with the buckshot or tumble just the buckshot ? Only sizes I cast are 0000 and 00000 , for those I’ve been rolling them between two blocks of flat metal .

A Lee Loader in .38 Special was my introduction to reloading, clear back in the stone age times of 1969 or so. The price was a whopping $9.95, brand new, which was my limit at $99/week paycheck. I read the instructions carefully and deprimed all...

If you want some " modest loads " 1,100 - 1,400 fps a can of Universal ( it is a cousin to Alliant Unique ) would work well for you. If you want to speed things up a bit 1,400 - 1,850 fps, H - 4198 is your friend with cast bullets in the...
