Lar, the peep was really easy, and just about doubled the sight radius. Open the action part way, drive out the little pin holding the safety in, replace with the peep, and put the pin back in to hold it. If the peep wobbles a bit, which it...

I have always like the .44 WCF as it feeds slicker than snot and even light loads seal the chamber well. The case mouth is a bit more fragile so I always seat and crimp separately. Sucks that your .44 has such a big (.430") bore. I always used...

I don't really need a pad with the loads I use, I don't want heavier loads that could accidentally get put in the Ruger. I want to be able to use the same loads in both guns, don't want to remember to keep a stiff load away from the Flattop. If I...

I was wanting a model 92 a couple months ago and wanted it to be in .45 Colt to go with my Ruger Flattop Convertible. I really didn't want to spend $1000 so the Miroku and Armisport was out. I had one Miroku 92 a few years back, a beautiful rifle...

I got a new Winchester on Friday. Well it's 108 years old, but it looks new. It is a 1906 model, made in 1911. Takedown model, shoots shorts, long and long rifle. It was refurbished about 20 years ago by a well known Minnesota gunsmith, and has...

^^^ This.^^^ Keep it small and light. I usually have to go with a peep due to the front sight being fuzzy anymore. But don't want to tap my 66 for a side mounted peep. I have a Williams peep that goes in the scope grooves but not going to use it...

I know Lapua brass is much thicker, the one time I used it, I had to reduce my usual load by almost 2 grains. Other foreign brass like PPU doesn't seem any thicker than say, Winchester or Federal. Thickness could vary between calibers too.
