I better get to it , I have 3 or 4 empty coffee cans in the basement that should be full of 45acp cast boolits , and the temperature is starting to climb . It's not as much fun casting when sweat is dripping down your face .

I know this isn't about alloy , but I had a decent shooting slug load 4-6 inch that later wouldn't hold on a 3 -4 ft pattern at a 100 yards later , I found the ported section of the rifled barrel had wad residue build up causing wild things to...

I noticed a difference in the group when I went to a harder alloy out of a rifled 12 gage in wad slug combination . Not in a good way .

I cast 12 gage slugs that are loaded in a wad with a MP mold , and would be more than happy to send you a few to try if you like . I have no experience with this slug in a rifled choke , or smooth bore , but reasonable loads at 50 yards out of a...

Have you tried ' plunk testing ' your boolits in a case as they are . You might find them to chamber as is , try loading a dummy round , without powder and prime , to test function .

The wads I have for 20 gage seam to be a little thick with the ball , but that just part of the process . I'm keeping my expectations kinda low 4-6 inch 50 yard loads would almost satisfy me . Have fun and be safe

O yes I would love to have a 3 die set that screws into a regular press the precrimp and final crimp die could be made to be adjustable 2 1/2 or 3 inch just like a seating die . Lee could be all over this with a limited run every year or so .

That could be a nice project for someone with the ability to do steel work , a 3 die set would make me pull out my old Lee 3 hole turret press . Size die , precrimp die , final crimp die - just deprime and prime off press .
