25 pounds - your plumbing joints probably contain extra tin . That should provide you with a hard alloy you could probably use more than 25 pounds a lot more , but ( remember boolit fit is the most important thing in shooting cast boolits ) . ...

In my youth , I had a older fellow give me some advice about shooting rifles , work up your best load , fix any problems with your rifle , then shoot it until it shoots good , along the way you will become a better shooter .

I play around with one that 2 of my younger brothers put together out of left over parts they had and enjoy it . It took a little getting use to the feel of the recoil , and the trigger leaves a lot to be desired , but it will eat up a 1 1/4...

I use c- red for most of my lubing it stays in the lube groves well . I supply a couple of my shooting buddy's with 38s and 45s they wanted me to lube the boollits with a lube that would stay in the groves good during storage . When I use my last 2...

You should be able to use your alloy as is in low pressure loads like the 38s , light 44 loads , but a few 2-5 percent of antimony would harden your alloy for higher pressure loads 44 mag / 40 s&w . A few percent of tin and antimony not the 20-25...

I thought the mix of alloy such as 16/1 - 20/1 or more with pure / tin was used to modify alloy for a better fill out while maintaining the soft pure characteristics , not as a harder even though it slightly increased the hardness . Then using...

In post # 10 the recommended .468-.471 at the case mouth of a loaded round will fix the plunk test , this + over all length = well feeding ammunition .

After full length resizing , are you flaring the case with the powder through die ? Seat boolits and remove flair . Seating boolits and remove flair is the step creating your trouble I believe . It can be a bit tricky getting the flare removed just...

I am not getting a clear understanding of the problem you are having , could you start at the beginning of your process . Type of dies , press single stage or progressive ? I think the die set-up will fix your issues .

You can load the 12 gage light on shot with the proper powder & wad combination , this will make a sack of shot go further . Lyman puts out a very useful shot shell reloading book .
