Three legs aren't all that bad. My Granddaughter has a terrier named Jack that got hit by a car several years ago. Amputated the (front) leg, and he is still getting along fine.

Roger on Ft Union. We were just there a couple of days ago. Also - ABQQ is not too far, and the National Nuclear Museum there is Flamin' OUTSTANDING! Believe me, it is WELL WORTH THE EFFORT!

Plus one for Beagles post. Too many folks have had MUCH trouble with the -446 boolit. Sell the mold and buy a -429, -477, or several other good mold designs. Leave the hassles up to those who love hassles. We aren't put here on this big green...

I had some galvanized sheet laying around - I rounded the corners so I wouldn't tear up my arms and pop-riveted it to my Bayou Classics cooker. The wind got frisky once and knocked it off the picnic table popping one side loose, and I'll get around...

How about a slower powder? I know you said that you had tried 4831 - how about 4350? My thinking is that fast (2400, for example) hit the boolit harder than a slower powder, the slower giving the boolit more of a shove than a whack, and seems that...

Roll out early. During the summer months here in Tucson, I get my casting done before 10AM, sometimes starting @ 0700, casting on the (covered) back patio.

I just used a drop light for many years until I got a Lachmiller w/heater.

I have 2 Lachmiller's, predecessor of the LAM's, and they have the little ratchet wrench. I like them better than the Lyman I had, that I sold on eBay. Also a Star, but that's off the subject. It just seemed to me that the Lachmillers (one w/heater,...

Wrong. You get the value by ADDING 500 to the shown weight. I have one I've used for decades, but prefer the 5-10, as it is handier, and is my recommendation to the OP. Check on eBay - they show up often for $40-50 delivered.

My GF suggested I go to Uline and buy from them. Three by three by 2+, they will hold about 200 (3 levels of 64 each) 9mm boolits, and nearly the same number of 30 caliber rifle boolits (only 2 levels). These boolits haven't been S&L'd, but you get...

I cast a bunch of 4 different design boolits for son to use, and he had the best luck with the RCBS 09-124-FN. As cast, TL'd they run through his guns like butter.

This is 5 shots from my Whelen @ 25 yds - Lyman 358315 or RCBS 35-200, don't remember which, dang near identical, both @ 209 grs w/my alloy, and over 18.5 grs 2400.

For pistols, a Pacific/Hornady Pistol Powder measure. 22 standard inserts, and a Dremel or whatever (masking tape, for example) to get exactly what one wishes to throw. Line 'em up in a loading block and have at it. For rifles, an Ohaus Duo-Measure...

Echo replied to a thread CHL Celebration in Cast Boolits
Try them as-cast to start with. If they are a sorta snug fit in the throat of your chambers, a TL will probably suffice, as the bbl will size them perfectly. I have had very good luck with TL'ing low intensity cartridges, even 9mm's, with no...
