Love those Huskys! I have a M-46 that loves the NOE 368-280 GC. I use 24-26 gr 5744 for 1600-1700fs or 40 IMR 4895for just under 2000 fs. I use necked up 8x57 brass without problem. In fact I have to turn the FL die hard down on the shell holder...

I have both, in original Marlin 94's Both are a lot of fun, but require care when loading. The necks are thin so care is required to avoid crumpling them. you will use a little less lead with the 38-40, but there are a wider variety of moulds ...

My 7.5" single seven is the most fun revolver I own. Narrow loading gates, short cylinders are only minor issues, easily overcome to enjoy the accuracy these guns offer! I load the Accurate 105pb and 115gc that crimp in the crimp groove for single...

DD, I would size to .459 to start. this works in most Marlins. Of course, it would be best to slug your bore, but I'll bet 459 will work.

Save your shoulder and try a 300 to 350gr at 1200 to 1500fs. The Lyman 457122 (339gr HP in my alloy) is THE deer killer in my 45/70's. Complete penetration, good expansion. Bison loads not needed for whitetails.

DD, I use Lyman 457191 (300gr), 457193 (420gr) and 457122 (340gr HP). Also the RCBS 45-300 fp. All feed fine in my 1895 marlin. 15.0gr unique and the 300gr Lyman is a favorite load. Easy on the shoulder, plenty of power. The 340 HP at about...
