If you are 35 or 40 years old, buy some Imperial Sizing Wax. Maybe $7 to $10 a tin, whatever. You will still be using that same tin when you are 70. Costs just a few pennies a year and never fails. Having a tube of Lee around never hurts either.

None yet in my part of the Beef State but my brother in AR has lots of dillo lawn trouble. He dispatches them with either a 410 or a 22 using shorts or CB's. Neighbors don't like firearm noise, might be a legal thing too. But you can use only so...

Kevin Rohrer, the Lee hand primer is pretty good especially the old round tray model. Too bad some one hasn't copied it in real steel. Particularly the inside 'dog bone'. If always been going to make a steel one, getting too old. I've got several...

I've mentioned this several times before, maybe people get sick of it, but have you checked for lower velocity loads at gmdr.com/lever/lowveldata. With 240 gr SWC in 44 mag using unique they had pretty good success with 6.0 gr thru 9.0 gr. At 10...

I occasionally shoot a 32/20 and 32 H R mag, not the same. I use the Hodgdon reloading web site on my tablet a bunch, it is certainly not difficult to use at all, really easy to compare things. ie: it shows 32/20 115 gr in a 5.5 inch barrel at...

I shoot left handed also. First lever was a Marlin 30/30. Had a couple of those plus 45/70 and a 338mx. Never a 357. An inexpensive 30/30 that could be rebored to 38/55 would get you there. I have moved on to Henry, love them. Have fun.

For practice with hard kickers if you don't like shooting off crossed sticks, it isn't hard to rig up a simple stand up shooting rest using a sawhorse, a few old 2 x 4's and a piece of old rug/ carpet. The hard kick isn't near so bad standing up....

When it comes to reloading, never has been a dumb question, as I have asked many on this forum. People here are great. The 60% you are asking about is likely refering to H4895. Check the Hodgdon site. I think it is safe to reduce H4895 60% by weight...

I had 2 Boyds stocks, a featherweight thumbhole and an At- One, both lefthand, both for Axis. The action fit right in the thumbhole, tight but needed no adjustment. The At-One needed a bit of wood gouged out at the rear so the tang would set in and...

If your scope is a 1 to 4, likely your rifle is a 45/70 or other big bore. At the distances these typs of rifles shoot (your 50 - 60 yards) I can't imagine parallax can be an issue. It sure didn't seem to be when I was using a shot gun scope on a...

Run 2 nuts on, then tighten against each other to lock where you want to cut. Much easier. Then clean up, taper with the file.

This may sound dumb, is there a way to stick round bolts thru the square sights holes to fit the base on the gun?

Brutal, what boolits? What size? What rifle? What, what, what? Years ago before I found this site or any forum, I wanted to try shooting cast in my Marlin 30/30 with microgroove. I bought some 165 gr .309 boolits and loaded them fairly mild and...

When I had a couple Marlin 30/30's, both microgroove, they shot purchased Beartooth 173gr .310 GC boo!its great at about 1900fps, per load data. But both liked .311 if HyTek or PC'd boolits were used. My Henry is exactly the same. Boolits sized...

I'll bet wolfmanjack got the Titegroup data from the GMDR site where they show data from 900 fps to 1155 fps with very good accuracy. Think they tested with Oregon Trail boolits at 15 - 16 hardness. Hope he chimes back in. I've tried Titegroup with...

Leadhead72 this is several days after your request for agate cleaning info. Many of the older scales(60's, 70's, 80's era) I think were made by Ohaus using agate bearings. Several had nearly the same model number. If you could find a manual for ...

Had my steel Henry 45/70 a few years, love it, never even a teenie tiny problem so far. I have mine scoped with 1 - 4 x 20 Leupold. It is quite accurate. It does very well with several 405 gr mouse fart loads. The higher end of those are plenty for...
