Joe504 if you could come up with parts to complete both presses, they would have quite a bit of value. Might take a while before the Covid cools.

Look at Savageshooters forum for the Axis, a ton of Axis info there on switching barrels, what fits, what doesn't. I'm pretty sure most small shank barrels, model 10 or 110 will work. They do use the barrel nut. Marlin Model X7 barrels possibly too....

With a pc'd 405 gr boolit, both blue dot and red dot in the 1100 fps range shoot a bit better in my Henry than unique. The blue dot and red dot loads shoot to the same point of aim at 75 and 100 yards. Plenty powerful for deer. No kick, not a lot of...

Look on eBay for the old round Lee hand primer. It was by far the best. Still is. The square tray model that came out next was complete junk. I have never used the latest Lee hand primers. I have a Lee bench primer I seldom use, its pretty fussy....

gumbo333 replied to a thread Cast bullet accuracy in Cast Boolits
If jacketed .458 bullets shot well and you are having trouble finding a .459 cast load that will equal its accuracy, try .460 cast. Bet they will shoot as good as the jacketed. Best is to slug your bore then start with cast .002 larger than the slug...

Well rats, my 74 year old brain is a tad fuzzy. I just dug it out, it is a Lyman 1000, not 1010. I've never had an RCBS scale so I'm not sure the beam is the same. I believe both were built by Ohaus. Take someone smarter than me. I thought I could...

OK roysha, I have in my spare parts, a 1010 beam with a 1010 base (plastic). That's all. Interested? But it's a Lyman. Beams may be the same.

gumbo333 replied to a thread let one walk in Hunting with CB's
What a beautiful place to hunt. I couldn't see a deer in your pics. Why not shoot with the 6.5 x 55? My grandson has a Tikka 6.5 x 55, it has a very long throat, does yours? But I certainly understand not taking a shot on any certain deer you may...

Cutco are very good, Sears Flame Freeze and Ecko Flint are good stainless knives that are not hard to keep sharp.

Mr Gibson, I have followed your posts and comments/ testing for years with much interest. Your comment "old age" I assume is referring to you and not the lead boolit, but........
