My first batch of powder, I used dextrin made from baking corn starch. I didnt have a die or press yet so it was mix, screen, dry, and corn. That powder was SLOW! After pressing using fly's die and no dextrin and a 6 ton press, then drying in...

I work at a sulfuric acid plant and we burn sulfur to make acid. Ive had to put out several fires in our sulfur storage areas. SO2 is no joke! Just last week, a guy at a copper smelter lost his life due to SO2 exposure. It can be detected by...

They scratch pretty easy with a fingernail. I dont have a hardness tester, so no way to test the hardness. They make a metallic clink when tapped together. Any ideas on determining what the heck they are? Guns have only two enemies: rust and...

We were piddling around at work in our scrap area, and I came across a pallet of this. They were originally rings before I cut them up. Im guessing they are pure Pb, but not 100% sure on that. They are from some old equipment we used to use...

Id be interested as well. We normally fry them, but they usually come out tough. I tried doing dumplings, but the meat came out stringy. Here is a pic from an outing with my dad a few weeks ago. Both guns were his. Sticker is covering 3...

I always build something before Ill buy it if I can, but I found that the wood would compress and deform in my 6 ton press very quickly. Fly's dies are awesome and VERY reasonably priced. Guns have only two enemies: rust and politicians!

Ive reported 4 or 5 in the last 10 or so years and they have told me to take them, no tags needed. I guess its whatever area you are in and how strict the wardens are who patrol it. Only had to put down one doe. The rest were DOA. I do call a...

UPS just delivered a Traditions Crocket .32 cal from MidwayUSA. Barrel twist is 1 in 48. But not sure what the CVA was. If anyone is looking for a .32 cal muzzleloader, they should check out the crocket. Awesome shooting gun, and the fit/finish...
