But you can load 45 ACP to those same levels in any of the guns you are referencing and do it for cheaper. Looking at 45 ACP and 44 Special Buffalo Bore offerings shows overlap of the velocities for similar weight bullets. The barrel length of...

They are very close. IMO anything .44 Special can do .45 ACP can do slightly better if held to SAAMI pressures, however you’re basically splitting hairs. I prefer .45 ACP because the rounds can be used in revolvers or autoloaders, cheaper and...

I’m sure there’s some small difference but I don’t think it’d be that noticeable. Some days I shoot better than others. It happens... Were you shooting the same guns, same bullets, same loads, at the same distances, under the same circumstances?...

I don’t think you can get the pressure up high enough to hurt anything other than the weakest piece of **** gun that’s ready to fail with any load. The pressure just doesn’t get very high using Trail Boss - that’s the whole point of the powder. ...

At the outdoor ranges I go to they were designed so that you can't see over the berm from the firing line. There's a roof that provides shade and protects from weather but they're open on the sides. The roof extends downrange so that the line of...

What are the problems that you are having? I'd guess that addressing the problems would be a better first start. Can you make it so that people would have to qualify in order to shoot pistols on the rifle range? I was shooting at 50 and...

Was that 4.5 grain Bullseye load in the .357 Magnum section or .38 Special. I’d be hesitant to shoot that in a Rock Island .38 Special.

I’ve got that same NOE 160 WFN and couldn’t get it to shoot well in any .38 Specials. I had all but given up on it until I tried it in my S&W 929 and it shoots better than a dozen or more different bullets that I’ve tried. At 850 FPS it does great...

Mine is .355 also. I’m guessing this doesn’t matter much as the old Colts with the same measurements are renowned for their accuracy.

Depends on how bad the bulge is and the condition of the rest of the gun. Even without a barrel, the gun would be worth more than $200 assuming it functions and doesn't have any rust. I'd guess somewhere around $300 to $400 would be reasonable...

I can slug the barrel. I've just never had great luck doing it and don't like the idea of hammering stuff through my guns... Additionally my electronic calipers are kind of crappy compared to my pin gauges which I know are correct and consistent....

Nice write up. You inspired me to grab my new Cobra and do some measurements. The chambers all fit a .382 pin gauge but not a .383 gauge. The cylinder length matched the King Cobra at 1.56. The cylinder throats all took .358 but not .359. The...

I assume they are built in batches. A couple months ago many online vendors had them for sale. A couple local shops got one in at about the same time. I haven’t seen any lately. If interested I call SIG and see what they say.

I tried some round ball loads in 45 ACP once. Never have I had such problems getting the expander, seating and crimp dies adjusted correctly. With the very small bearing surface there's not much neck tension and its very easy to create a round...

I’d start by tweaking your current dies to see if you can get better neck tension. How would you roll crimp a 9mm case? Any appropriate 115 to 147 bullets for .38 Special will work in 9mm. I’ve used many piles of a .357 sized 160 WFN in my...
