    Like many of you I am way too old to "bug out" -- I just could not survive in the wilds, its a chore surviving here. :-) In an evacuation type scenerio I would just take the 10/22 take down, 22 revolver, and a brick and hope for the best -

    It seems like an easier way would be to machine the new barrel shank off center so the 32 firing pin would line up -- This is what the mauser 340 does to use a center of the bolt firing pin for 22rf --

    Saeco dies are flanged and threaded on the bottom -- Herters #49 uses a die similar to saeco but has a smaller thread diameter - saeco will not work in herters -- herters will possibly work in saeco - haven't tried to swap them. -- I understand...

    Actually I think you want cold rolled bar stock -- or alum tooling plate -- Hot rolled plate is about as rough as wood -- A decent substitute for metal may be 3/4 MDF --- it is generally flat and smooth - Now that i am retired finding...

    Die at left is a decap die -- it is universal to 5 die sets -- the knurled "ball" is the pin retaining nut -- You need a smaller dia nut for 270 or a decap die that has a 10/32 stem instead of the .395x30 stem - Priming die should be marked 2 ...
