Since your not going to say what platform you are planning for this rifle I will give you my take on it. The action is what limits the pressure that can be safely loaded in it, not the brass. I have several 50-70's that I built, one on a falling...

My hunting experiences mirror what Rick Hodges wrote, I have used everything from a 45 lb. longbow to a 416 Rigby rifle . It was a big surprise when the Rigby shooting a 350 gr. Barnes TSX bullet placed in the shoulder of a 85 lb. antelope doe...

I think the only similarity to a rolling block is the way the breech block is supported by the hammer. I guess for the ammo of that period it was sufficient . Jedman

I am not sure of what you have exactly but, if it's a nick right at the mouth of the chamber from maybe a screwdriver or some tool someone used to work a stuck casing out with I would try using a steel taper pin or a drift pin of a diameter that...

No disrespect but the No. 6 is not a true falling block. Frank De Haas referred to the design as a swing block, many rimfire rifles used similar designs for low cost rifles. Jedman

I believe Ohio will stay with there current strait walled deer gun laws now that it mirrors there handgun caliber choices, Any centerfire cartridge between .357 and 50 cal. as long as it has a strait walled case. We have no case length restrictions...

I don't think you got a accurate measurement of the true bore and groove diameter. The groove would certainly be more than .003 larger. I have read of early original 1894's that had .427 groove barrels but the Marlins made in the past 35 years or...

If the frame / reciever is strong enough in the breech face area where most of the trust is applied the pivot point will soon start to loosen with hi pressure cartridges. It seems to happen to all of the types that have a lift off barrel. Accuracy...

I load a lot of different bullet weights in 45-70 and have never used IMR 4831. It seems a very slow powder and you will need a case full to get it to perform. Hope it works for Ya. Jedman

If you find out what it is and need a new ( different ) barrel watch eBay as you can find all sorts of take off barrels and maybe something that will fit. Right now 7 mm barrels are so common they sell usually at the lowest prices of all calibers. ...

I was looking on eBay and there is a folding sight listed for Ruger 10-22 or 44 carbines that has a peep hole instead of a V notch, item no. 191800144797. You would need to cut a dovetail to mount it. For the front sight I think your going to need...

It will shoot out to 900 yards, trajectory would be crazy steep, there is a YouTube video where Jerry Miculek is shooting a 9 mm revolver at 1000 yards and he mentions the bullet is well over 150' high before dropping in at 1000 yards. Jedman

No, It was almost the perfect size except it did have a sight ramp that was solder on. A friend bought the barrel to try to switch it for the 30-30 barrel on his 94 AE model rifle but found the 30-30 had a smaller barrel shank and decided to leave...

Here's a topper 20 ga. that has the small firing pin frame that I made in to a 375 Win. I used a Win 94 barrel that was pre chambered in 375 that were available thru Numrich and turned it to fit as a liner barrel. Used a 30-30 ejector and epoxied...
