Rich, I looked in one of my books on Stevens single shot shotguns and they have made no less than 27 models of the modern guns plus in the 1870's and 1880's there was the tip up guns, I have one ! A lot of the newer guns use the same stocks so...

I watched the short video they have and right away noticed the large gap between the forend and the reciever. I am wondering if there is a reason for that such as barrel harmonics ? Anyway it looks bad and there is a way to make a forend hanger so...

Buckshot, Thanks for all of the good pics and the great advice. My rifle is a little different than yours as it has no writing or stamps anywhere except the Remington name and patent date on the top tang. Mine has no finish it looks as though it...

I have already had a couple picks but a gun I have been looking for for a long time is a Mossberg model L. It was a low priced single shot 22 rifle that had a martini like dropping block action and was only made for a couple years. I need another...

I know very little about the Shiloh Sharps rifle, it sounds like something I should own but I don't. I do have several 50-70 rifles and carbines on different single shot action types and it's one of my favorites. It has similar ballistics to a 50...

I will be damned ! This weekend I had a table at a small gun show and just today a guy carrying a 43 Spanish offered me a even swap for a gun I had on my table so we traded. The gun came with a box of shells with only 2 missing 18 total and it has...

I own a lot of rolling blocks, rifles and shotguns but not a 43 Spanish. I thought if I ever was to pick up a 43 Spanish I was going to try a chamber adapter. I have made them for other applications and have had good success. What I was thinking for...

I shortened the rimmed blk out version for a reason in my rifle. It is built on a Yildiz folding 410 shotgun that is super lightweight with a aluminum alloy receiver. I originally chambered it to 32 H&R mag. But somehow the chamber came out bad at...

That is a perfect cartridge for a Cadet rifle ! I used the 300 blk out platform for a break action 410 shotgun that I relined with a 30 cal liner with a larger diameter chamber OD. Since the shotgun would be dangerous with the pressures that the...

If it is a 50-70 it is quite rare and valuable. There was Navy Cadet rifles that were made in 50 cal. Rimfire and they had a small frame only 1" wide and are seen for sale often. The early 1869 Navy and Marine carbines are made on the larger no. 1...

I have a rifle I built from a Yildiz folding 410 shotgun that is chambered in a shortened 300 blk out just as you described. I took .060 off the bottom of the loading dies and it forms a perfect rimmed cartridge with 357 mag. brass. The neck is the...

Savage 99 T's are pretty rare but to me very unattractive . If you seen a gun that was worth 10 times what the seller was asking for it wouldn't you beg , borrow , or steal the $ 800 to buy it ? Just sayin ? Or is this dreaming ? Jedman

Being this is the Lever Gun forum, my dream lever gun would be one of the deluxe models of a Savage M 425 , 435 , 440 Hi Power in 30-30 or 35 Rem. Or a early Win. 1873 in 22 rf. Jedman

I have used Green Dot in 38 spl and many other pistol and rifle cartridges with good results. Your charges listed should be fine as it is a slightly slower powder than Red Dot and should be mild , velocity and recoil wise. Jed
