68000, each wheel weight alone was 250 pounds and we loaded 5 or 6 per side. Front weights were 110 each and we mounted 10 to 15.

I have shot a ton of 11.7 grains of H110 behind any of the assorted cast lead carbine bullets... just works! Second the suggestion to check the crown, crown damage will do strange things to a barrel.

Yup, several hundred pounds of rubber, then several hundred pounds of liquid and then several hundred pounds of wheel weights on each side. Traction is king, slippage causes fuel consumption that gets you nowhere and adds to compaction. Our...

mattw replied to a thread 22 TCM 9R cast bullet in Cast Boolits
I am not shooting a 9r, do not think I would due to the odd requirements. I am shooting the 1911 RIA 22TCM with cast bullets and they work great. I am using the 44gr. Lyman 225438, it is a round nose bullet and feeds perfectly. I powder coat and...

Never will forget the first time I helped Dad change the rear tire on a 200hp tractor. We drained the old one, pulled it off the hub with a gin pole on another tractor and got it flat on the ground. Once there we used the second tractor 3 point to...

The one from Amazon came in and it was thick with proper hole spacing! The only problem, the mould is old enough the new shoulder screw will not screw in all the way... feels like threads are different. The old shoulder screw seems to work. And...

I have read a little about hitek, sounds like a pain... waiting on stuff to dry, getting the mix right and so on. Maybe I am wrong... sometimes I also use the PC to gain that extra .001 or .002 for a good bullet fit. Do you put it on before or...

Yup, been shooting 41's for decades now and love them... but I find that the best are with 2400 now as they really do not hurt. I still shoot a few full house from time to time just to remind myself what my hunting loads feel like. Anything with...

Picked up a Lyman 358627 from a member here... Only got a few made... They seem to drop small, but the cavities also seem to have crud in them that I should have cleaned out. Kinda looks like a baked graphite. Will clean it up and test again.

I like to cast for each gun... my test is to take a cast bullet that I have sized and make sure that it at least takes good thumb pressure to push it thru the throat. I find that .001 to .002 is pretty good, but with softer alloy I will lean toward...

I give my pins a slight polish on a buffing wheel. But as others have said, heat is your friend! I keep a tiny torch handy and when the mould is hot enough to start, I torch the pins and they will release after that. If they are cold you will...

That is a great mould for the 300BO! I have been shooting it cast with 94/3/3, proper gas check and PC. Want to give it a try in the old '03, but have had to much fun in the AR with it.
